I'm slowly being tempted to buy a Trident 900 !!...

I've seen quite a few for sale recently and for not much money (compared to Bonnies)
They look quite customisable and pretty bullet proof...

Is there anything bad I need to look out for on these ??
    Cheers, Dave...

    The Darkside?? That's Lancashire!!!!:p

To answer Volksrat's question, Trident 900s ARE pretty bulletproof. Mine has nearly made it to 50,000 miles in the (almost) 21 years that I have had it (from new). Good basic maintenance and a good quality battery, to preserve the starter sprag clutch, are really all that is needed. Front fork oil seals have been known to leak on some machines, removing the air filter box and changing the gearbox sprocket are both a right royal pain in the arse. Carbs can gum up a bit if left unused for too long, but I always use Redex in mine as I can't use it as much as I would like these days (illness ... don't ask!), which seems to keep everything clean and working well. Having toured in Britain and (mainly) France, 2 up and fully luggaged, I'm still looking for a good reason to sell it. Perhaps lack of use may force my hand in the fullness of time. Depends what my cardiac consultant comes up with I suppose.
    Anyway, here's a tempter ... or four!

Steve, that bike looks as if it's just came out of the showroom, the red and black looks great, and how neat everything is and not a weed in sight..you have inspired me to go and give my bike a good clean then get out in my garden and give everything a tidy

    Sorry, Dougie!

I blame the wife, mostly, for the state of the garden. Sadly, I tend to nurture weeds whilst uprooting plants. Occasionally she lets me loose with a fork and a spade with strict instructions as to where/what to dig up. Sometimes I even get it right!!

I suppose that as the bike is getting older, I do tend to put more effort into keeping it looking nice, if only to preserve it for the future. After all this time it seems like a part of the family - it was bought shortly after SWMBO and I first met, and is probably in better condition than both of us put together! Nice to be appreciated though.:)

The concrete looks even cleaner now after showering it with Lidl's finest bleach, diluted in a watering can and then lightly brushed. Left to its own devices it then came up just as nicely as it ever did using Jeyes Fluid and at a fraction of the cost.:) Yeah, I know ... bloody tightfisted Yorkshireman!:D:p:cool:

    You're right of course, Dougie.
I'm probably feeling a bit sorry for myself as the last year has had more downs than ups.:( Should have had a heart op (catheter ablation) last year, but the day we found out it was to go ahead, albeit after a few tests, my wife found a lump in her breast which turned out to be cancerous. Had to put my op on hold to help her get through her treatment. All pretty much ok now thankfully. Cancer does mess with your head!!:confused::mad:
Hopefully I can get off these damn beta blockers sometime soon (if the op goes well - if it doesn't the bike WILL be up for sale 'cos she can't ride it) and we can both get back to a 'normal' life again.:)
God's always got a custard pie up his sleeve!
