@Markus you really do have some beautiful places to ride through, it's all so vibrant. Outdoor swimming is something I love, so the idea of combining a great bike ride with a swim sounds pretty close to perfection to me!!

Not particularly exciting, but am getting ready to take the Street Scrambler to France for a few days in a couple of weeks.

I'd planned on traveling light but apparently there's a major Dijon mustard shortage in France with rationing in the supermarkets on the odd occasion that they have some. The friends I'm going to visit have asked me to bring some from the UK.

As I now have12kg of mustard to take so they can resupply the village, it's full luggage time so there's somewhere for my socks and passport.

@Mrs Visor: You are right! It becomes really perfect with the small restaurant by the lake, which offers delicious food and also excellent pastries.

Thanks @Mrs Visor , wheels come in grey from the factory and mine were damaged by a heavy handed tyre fitter. Powder coating them gold transformed the bike, very happy with how it looks

So you’re making a “mustard run“, @Gyp?! :) That sounds like as good a reason as any to get in a motorcycle ride. ;):joy:

Pretty much. It's a trip that was postponed from the start of COVID and finally we get to do it, and now we can export Dijon to, err, Dijon it would be rude not to.

Of course, using my standard approach of over doing things, I've got 4 catering packs of made mustard and another catering tub of mustard powder; basically a lifetime's supply for the whole village.

...but it does mean that my luggage is a bit heavy...

    @Dawsy
Dawsy, did you post a ride report about your Scotland trip? I’ve been scarce on this forum lately due to motorcycle trips and visits from family so I’m a little behind on my reading as well as contributing. Sounds like you had a great time on your new speed triple! o_O And I like the color. ;)

Maybe slip the odd tin of Coleman's English Mustard Powder in there ?
Educate the French on the delights of real mustard. :yum:D

That was a bit of bad luck. Fort William used to be a lovely place but it's now a shadow of it's former self, shame really

I had the same luck in Oban with a motorhome. Car park had a height barrier so no go but absurdly cars were allowed to park in the lorry park. We, due to size, had to park in the lorry park and so carefully parked within a bus bay as it was the only one free due to the cars taking 75% of the lorry park :confounded:
Bought a ticket and went to the Highland games.
Came back within alotted time and a parking ticket was on the windscreen. Appealed and the pompous arse of a clerk replied acknowledging my comments and agreeing with them to a point but " sorry" to tell me the verdict still stood.

Nothing short of profiteering from Oban council, shame on you!

To add insult to injury the car park is well signposted as "Free" yet we were happy to pay and buy a normal ticket for our stay under the circumstances.

Really lucky break today, had a visit from a neighbour, who showed me a post on the local Facebook forum. Seems a dog walker had found a triumph key on a cupar motorcycles keyring. I thought that's a coincidence,, then it dawned shit that's mine,,,, Thankfully it's just been returned and I'm on my way out to pick up a bottle of wine and some chocolates as a thank you. It helps being the only triumph in the village :)

On one of the rare occasions, today, when I actually get out on a bike. I get flagged down by an older than me geezer. Looked pretty important so did a proper stoppy next to him on double yellows. He then proceeded to tell me he has a T110 pre unit.
"Is it for sale?" I ask, just in case it's one of those that's been in a garage for years and he'd like to out it. "Oh no" he says "I'll never sell it."
    Jeez....."I think I'll go home now...."

I had the pleasure today because of a summer thunderstorm with my TIGER once again in "submarine mode" to "dive" my 60 km over the highway to the office. But I could also have switched to "flight mode" because the wind direction would have fit.
