Hi all, I joined this site last year & I must say, it’s helped me out no end! Right, a little bit of history - I took the plunge last year & bought myself a 05 Hinckley Bonneville (after a 12 year break from 2 wheels as had a new family!), this has been a real eye opener.. Lessons learned so far, I need to put it to bed during the wet & cooler months.. Coming out of this winter, being the carb model she wasn’t willing to start (ended up missing the DGR! ). Anyway, after lots of research on this site & YouTube I’ve had to get my hands dirty but have the satisfaction of now saying I can do basic mechanics! I used the opportunity after replacing the stock exhausts for TORS to strip down the carbs, re jet it, remove air box snorkel & baffle whilst fitting k&n filter & breathe easy filter inlet! She runs so sweet now, fuel consumption has gone down & she feels so torquey, plus lots of theatrics from the pipes which love to pop & bang! I’ve also changed the standard bars for Norman Hyde cafe style swept back affairs & numerous other bits (don’t tell the wife!) I’ll post some picks when I work that bit out! Anyway, tootle loo for now, many thanks for questions that I have posed & looking ford to lots more adventures on the Bonneville & sharing on this site! Regards Jase
