It's working out well mate. If you ever get the opportunity to visit, do - the area is stunning!

And they do nice white wines, stunning cheese (Comté, Morbier), and it's the forest are producing instruments making wood for ages.
Very nice area, good choice Wim

Cheers Hubert - we already had a good sampling of the blanc d'Alsace, delicious indeed! We'll certainly give the cheeses a go, too! :yum

Then you need to ask some Comté "Juraflore". The older it is the stronger the taste is.
They have a store in Poligny, but you can find it mostly everywhere.

As we had thunderstorms and torrential rain in the morning we decided it was not to be a biking day. So we did some shopping, had the car fixed (indicators stopped to function) and waited for a weather window. When that came about we took the dog to some waterfalls to play about a bit.

20220523_143038.jpg After that we visited a church built by Le Corbusier in 1955, which is on UNESCO's world heritage list. Unfortunately the most impressive side was in scaffolds.

We did a nice loop today, some bigger and some very small roads. On the way we scaled the Ballon d’Alsace, a 1247 metres pass.

A bit cold today, but dry.

Some bits were pretty twisty, and quite a few hairpins. The mrs did enjoy most of it, but had a bit of a scare when she had a little skid on some loose gravel. She recovered quickly though!

A 120 mile trip today, the mrs is knackered! :joy: beautiful weather and dry roads.

We conquered the "Grand Ballon" today, and lots of hairpins.

    A few shots:

Whilst en route my "Nemo" key ring opted for freedom (it flew past the mrs' helmet ), so that had to be replaced. For obvious reasons @brown mouse it had to be grey... :grinning:

Then on we went back to our digs.

Part of our route - slightly twisty...
    20220525_175858.jpg
    The entire loop.

And then went out with the wee dog.
