Thanks for all terrific photos, @Dougie D! It looks like you guys made up a good group and had lots of great riding and fun. :) You certainly had some fantastic scenery. There's so much green it hurts my "desert rat" eyes. ;):joy:

I did this back in about 1990......
We were going down to Cornwall for a week on a Kawasaki GT 750 but couldn't find a dog sitter so trained our Jack Russel, with dog treats, to jump in and out of the top box on the floor. I was in the middle of tiling the kitchen and so a grout pot lid served as a raincover and the dogs head could pass through the cut hole in the top box lid but not its shoulders hence if was retained.
A quick test ride around the local streets with the then wife, following in the car to observe, and we were good to go.
It travelled as far south as down to the Lizard Point and as far North as the Orkneys and was never a problem.
I even got pulled in Edinburgh for speeding by a plain ROVER 216 police car  after they said they'd been chasing me 5 miles :p and they didn't say a word about the dog :joy::joy::joy:
Probably decided if wasn't a good idea for the paperwork it would create

As we left Ullapool the next day my phone fell out my pocket @andyc1 noticed it and as we were on intercom he told me so i went back only to find it had been run over and it was dead, it was only about 6 months old :sob: so in affect i had lost my camera my watch as well as my phone so no more photos for me for the next day
(When we were at Applecross my teeth started to play up and i couldn't sleep so i decided to head home and see the dentist as i knew it would only get worse ,i left at 4.30am so i could see the dentist as soon as she opened i managed to get an appointment at 11.30am) i met back up with the guys at Tyndrum later that day. i brought my compact camera from home so i could take a few more photos
    Parked up in Oban
    Oban.JPG

next stop was about 20 miles up the road from Oban at the Loch Melfort Hotel where we sat out on the terrace and enjoyed the views

next stop was Inveraray for an ice cream

We headed back to Callander for our final night, it had been a fantastic week with with great company and some funny stories to tell (but I'll leave that for someone that's a good story teller :joy:!) the roads were fantastic even when they were wet. the next day the sun came out so i took a couple of photos of Loch Earn on my way home

It's my favourite road ,i usually do it several times every year, i think i've only ever done it 3 or 4 times in the wet! but that road surface is brilliant i think it's shell grip which has amazing grip in the dry and the wet

It was a brilliant trip as Scotland always is! The Scottish roads are fun even in the wet although we did get some dry spells too. Good company, good craic was had, and some memorable events thrown into the mix :joy:
Cheers @Dougie D for organising another cracker :)

A moody view from mine and @Wessa 's digs in Ullapool the Loch Broom Lodge and a pic of the TV lounge. A mile or so out of town but very comfortable and a friendly host. We cooked our own meal in the kitchen and had roast chicken, salad and sour dough bread. A welcome change from pub/restaurant food.

What a terrific trip and fantastic photos, @Dougie D! And I especially admire your determination to get to the dentist AND then get your camera and rejoin the group. ;):D I particularly like the photo of all the guys sitting out on the deck looking all happy and relaxed.:)

Perhaps it's no coincidence that there's a dam there, Sprinter. ;)

It was sunny because you were in a car and not out in the open on a bike, @Vulpes. Same principle as the one where if you don't bring your rain gear on a motorcycle trip it will most certainly rain and vice versa. :joy:
