    Hi,

I'm off to the NW200. For Saturday I've got grandstand tickets at York corner.

For Thursday I want to sit on a fence out on the fast bits, any recommendations?

Also any recommendations for places to go on the Friday free of practice/racing. Planning a pint of guiness at Joey's bar, obviously.

    Cheers,

The run down from station rd to Coleraine is the best fast bit. Don't know what the situation is now though with getting a good vantage point. Over the years its got harder and harder with insurance issues and greedy land owners. But thats where I'd be trying to view from to see the sheer speed on narrow roads. Often get a bit of overtaking/ slipstreaming down there too.

Wish i was coming with you. I always go to the Portrush / Portstewart bridge as you get them screaming up there and braking hard not to mention the ones who over cook it. Also found it great to walk down to the pits to chat with the riders and some great pictures to be had there. But I've found out it is so bloody expensive and every one has their hand out. Yes i know they need money to sustain it. But the last time i went a few years ago it cost £22 pounds for them just to lift the tape so we could sit on the embankment. Wish i had known earlier i could have asked my Sister if she was renting her bungalow this year in Coleraine just a few miles away. But Hey have a great time and get a few pic's for us all.
    Joe.

Off to see the NW200 this Monday, staying in Scotland overnight, and getting the ferry to Belfast Tuesday. Then next Monday going down south till the following Saturday. Really looking forward to it all. Got loads of routes planned, going to be a morning to night ride most days. So to all those with up and coming trips over the next week or so. Have a fantastic time, and ride safe.

For a fast bit with decent viewing, Black Bridge/Islandtasserty Road is one of the best spots. Gets crowded though. The entry and exit from Mill Road roundabout and on to Station Corner is a favourite of mine. The approach to University Corner used to be good but they seem to push the crowds further back each year. From there, on a still day, you can hear the scream of the superbikes on full noise long before they appear, superb!

I'm in the grandstand for the main race on the Saturday. But for the Thursday night race, might have to have a wander down that way.

I`m in the Pits grandstand on Saturday, and might try the York corner stand on the Thursday. Hopefully the weather is reasonable for the racing.

The weather looks good up to Sunday night so you should get a dry run home. When the weather's good I always indulge myself and take the long way home through D&G before the boring motorway slog back home.

Yes, it was a brilliant day. Sun in Northern Ireland, who'd have thought that. Was chucking down Thursday, I had to improvise rain head gear. My tank bag cover did the trick.

The Supersport race was the pick of the bunch. Really impressed with Davey Todd, he deserved a win over the week, imho

Controversy over regs at this years' event. There may well be more to this than appears here but if something is banned by the regs then it's banned, not much point in turning up to race with an "illegal" machine and then throwing the rattle out when you're disqualified.
