    Who’s taking part in DGR 2022 on Sunday 22nd May?

    Where are you riding? What are you riding? etc.

    I will be taking part for the 5th year and am looking forward to the first Solent, England group ride since 2019. :cool:

    I’ll be with my Street Cup on the Cheshire ride. Looking forward to it :cool:. It’ll be my first; I’m normally working Sundays so this’ll be special, just please may it not rain or my finery will be ruined.

    I hope you both have a great DGR. I'm disappointed that there's not one happening in Tucson this year. I've been checking around and I think that one of the main sponsors / organizers of the DGR here has had some life changes happen during our "Covid Times". :(

    Would like to ride, however the closest one to me is thirty miles and no way I am riding that far without gear…in other words, not in a coat, tie, and Wingtips. Since I am on a TTRS I have no way to carry the “proper” outfit to change into.

    I'll be taking part in the North Yorkshire one this year, which will be the 7th time. When I lived in Winchester I did the Poole DGR three times, the Solent twice and the Salisbury one last before covid. :cool:

    Now there's a coincidence - I seem to remember something about General "Stonewall" Jackson and Winchester from my sketchy knowledge of the American Civil War :cool:

    I don't know where the North Yorkshire ride is, it's not listed on the DGR website as such. To my shame my knowledge of Yorkshire towns and cities wouldn't direct you to the correct ride.

    You are also supposed to register your entry, so go to www.gentlemansride.com and select the rides tab, choose your country "England" and then find the ride that's nearest you.

    Enjoy

    Agreed, I believe you can only view the ride details once registered for DGR and then you can only see the ride location you join.

    I had already registered for the Cardiff DGR and raised a couple of hundred quid but out of the blue was called for some overdue spine surgery at the end of April, and they said I couldn't ride or drive for 2 months after. I went in for the surgery but it was cancelled on the day (lack of beds) so unless I get a call before then I'll be taking part after all on this. 20220427_125347.jpg

    @PatW

    PatW, somehow I missed that your spine surgery was cancelled. Have you been able to get it rescheduled? Tough to be all ready for it mentally then have it called off at the last minute. It would be nice if you were able to to the DGR after all, though. I love that photo of your bike.

    Yes @Sandi T , cancelled on the day. No official date yet but could be first week of June, bit frustrating but I can't complain as it's a $90,000 operation that I get free on the NHS.
