Yes, @Dawsy, my auntie and uncle are "bright as buttons".:heart: That's actually a great description of them. They are sharp as can be mentally and are really fun to talk with. While we don't see eye to eye on some things (e.g.,politics), it doesn't really matter. We love each other and have plenty of other things to talk about. I do think the sunshine helps them. It definitely encourages being active compared to staying indoors for 5 to 6 months of nasty winter weather. Thanks for wishing us enjoyment at our dinner next weekend. Steve and I are really looking forward to it. We're never quite sure whether Pat and Ted will come back to Arizona each year due to their age and health so we appreciate the time we do get to spend with them.

My condolences to you on the loss of your grandmother, @Mrs Visor. She sounds like she was an amazing woman! I'll bet that her long life was in large part related to her independent spirit and attitude of "grabbing life with both hands". I have a friend whose mother is 103 and from my friend's descriptions of her mom, she sounds very much the same as your grandmother and my aunt and uncle. Yes, may Pat and Ted long continue to chase the sun! :sun::grinning:

Sorry about your soaking today, @Mrs Visor. :( That is one thing about my Harleys as compared to my Speed Triple. Those fenders are a boon in the rain. While the Harleys may take awhile to clean up, at least my jacket and other riding gear isn't a mess. Not so if I'm caught in the rain on Speedy. Hope those 30 minutes were good ones so at least it was worth the clean-up time!

Thank you; she was a tiny but very formidable woman, in every way!!! My parents were half hoping that @Helmut Visor and I would turn up to the funeral a few days ago on our bikes - we had discussed it briefly as it would have appealed to her nature, but I thought better of it as it would NOT have amused my Auntie .

I'll bet that your grandmother somehow knows that you would have ridden the bikes to her funeral but that you opted to be respectful of you auntie's "delicate constitution". ;):joy: Sometimes it is the thought that counts.

BTW, I like your new avatar! It is new, isn't it? Or have I just been unobservant? :p

Thanks; it's new, I have very few pictures but got one of me riding (slowly, in a car park!) into the bike meet I went to the other week so cropped it for my avatar. I really need to get some photos - I don't like my picture taken but equally would like some of me on the bike. I am sure I'll get some at some point .

Went to another bike meet and ride today. A short 130km ride. Lovely views, but was riding with some mates, so no picture stops along the way. The ride went through the local fruit region, lots of trees currently in full bloom, always a lovely sight. I spotted this lovely Indian at the start of the ride and took one picture when we stopped for drinks. There was also this WWI monument right next door, so I just had to take a picture.

Snap I was out with my grandson today on my tiger. Went over to the Ponderosa in North Wales. It was very quiet. I won't be going back any time soon. The road from Llangollen all the way up the pass to the cafe has been restricted to 40mph and then right up to the roundabout where the 50mph average speed cameras kick on the Denbigh / Chester road. What a complete fcuk up, it has ruined a good ride.:mad:

@Wessa , what a shame to ruin a good ride ( I don't know it); alas I fear the internal combustion engine and all those that use them will slowly, gradually, like the dinosaurs we are told we are, will soon be marginalized by the current agenda...

Not me @Johnjo ...maybe one day though!

I wouldn't bother to ride it now. It is a real shame as it is a cracking road, with lovely scenery.

That's a shame to hear, @Wessa. We've had some good rides ruined over the years, too, and it's always a sad day and major disappointment. Hopefully you'll be able to find a suitable replacement. Hope you at least had fun with your grandson!

Run to a local bike meet, met the guy who bought my old Fat Boy, he's put new bars, new screen, new seat, personal number plate and quite a few other changes to it, i was hoping to see him as when i was sorting out my garage i came across the adjuster for the upgraded rear shocks that i had fitted, he says the handlings great so will probably leave the suspension as it is

Quite a few bikes turned up after i had taken this photo

Well today i got the Bonnie back on the road and headed for my two favourite cafe's. And wouldn't you know it got soaked coming home. I know these pictures are still blurry but i am stuck with them. So despite some reluctance from my riding buddies due to the weather forecast, the three of us got out quite early today. One on a 675R, one on a Honda Crossrunner and myself on my 765.
I lead the way to breakfast at the Zoom cafe, South Cave. Despite the damp road conditions we arrived dry and hopeful for the rest of the day.

From there we were hoping to go into Lincolnshire but the smartphone app was suggesting weather wise that was a poor choice. A quick bit of research and Bridlington looked attractive ... really! :worried:
A quick fill up of juice at Morrisons (£1.63/ltr ) and then on to Scarborough for the Harbour Bar :yum
