    Hi all,
I haven’t been on for a while, but im considering changing my front brake caliper on my 2005 Thruxton to a 4 pot Berlnger caliper or I believe Brembo do one as well has anyone done this and is it worth the £500 outlay. Cheers

To me and style of riding i would say not worth it. I find my t100 excellent in the stopping ways. But only my humble opinion

One issue I heard - even though the brakes may be an upgrade - if involved in an incident - being not OEM - some insurers will discriminate against them.

Unfortunately, that is probably very true. On my only mcycle claim last year since I started riding in 1976 the insurance started some ominous rumblings about non standard mirrors, let alone different brakes. Doesn't matter if they improve safety, you would have to declare them. Once declared, you are in another weird world. I had my petrol tank resprayed green after my accident and some major insurers would not cover me because of that! Even the brokers were puzzled.
