I got a bit sidetracked recently putting together the map of places people from the forum recommend recently but over the weekend I went back to do some refinement of the route for the Europe trip. I learned the difference between MyRoute-app's shaping and via points along the way, so I've changed some of the shaping points to via points, and started adding daily end points based on 250 mile stages.
I also added some notes on the via points and noticed something odd. The notes keep disappearing! I've tried multiple times on different points. I also tried logging out, closing the browser and logging back in to MyRoute-app. I think the notes are there as they showed up again initially, but then they disappeared again. It's very annoying! I've raised a support ticket with the MyRoute-app guys but I wondered if anyone else has experienced this, or any other quirks/bugs? I know there are a few users on the forum.

Never done anything more complicated than just start and end points with waypoints in any of the routes I have created.

I just did a little test on the routes I made for our (car, unfortunately) trip to Scotland in 3 weeks time - my notes do not disappear...

I've been a bit distracted lately but it's all still on. Which reminds me, I need to speak to one of our ex-forum members about the Spanish bit. Update soon!

MRA has had a big upgrade in March so I'll see what's going on now. I didn't get a response from their support people, which is a bit annoying. I'm assuming it's something to do witht he length of the route but that might be a red herring.

I just upgraded to the Lifetime Gold version, as I wanted some extra functionalities. Could that have something to do with it?

I've got the Gold version, too. More investigation needed, I think. If the problem persists I'll get back on the their support people and update on here, as I know there are a few users of MRA on the forum.

If you havn't done daily routes, you can split the whole route up into daily routes or you can even split the daily routes up! (i think you have to be a gold member to do that, it is a handy feature though)

I just upgraded to a lifetime Gold membership (at a 50% reduced rate obviously, I'm still Dutch...:joy:). I wanted the extra features to make planning a bit easier still.

There's still quite a bit of fluidity in the planning at the moment. I've set end/start waypoints for each of the days so I can see everything in one place and only adjust once when necessary. I'll take a copy of the route and have a play around with the tool some more.

Thanks for all the interest in the trip. I've squirreled away all the links and advice on Evernote, where I'm doing most of the plotting and planning. The tour is still on, it's just gone a bit quiet while I've been involved in other things. Updates in future will be on the other forum so this thread is effectively closed on TTF now.
