Hi everyone! Went out for a ride today and noticed my engine light popped on. I stopped to see what was going on and also noticed my gear indicator is no longer showing and my neutral light no longer works. I checked the error code on it when I got home and it’s P0914. Anyone know what can cause this. It’s literally a brand new bike. Seems to ride fine and shifting gears seems fine. Noticed that it wouldn’t start with the kickstand down, maybe due to it not being able to tell if it’s in neutral? Anyone have the same issue? Thanks!

Google says the code is a gear position sensor error which seems right. Your right about the side stand too, bike doesn't know what gear its in. Being new it will be covered under warranty so no worries, let your dealer know and they'll put in a warrenty claim. You won't do any harm riding the bike in the meantime.

Ps. That keyring will make a mess of your nice black top yolk if you ride the bike with it on there.

Thanks. Yea I’ll have to call them up Tuesday since they’re closed today and tomorrow. Good to know I can still ride it with no worries.

Just an update. The service department cleared it at the dealership and I went to pick it up yesterday. 5 miles in the check engine light came back on and the indicator was stuck at 5. I turned around and brought it back. He also told me someone else was having the same issue. He said he would open a case with Triumph and find out more. I think the other guy had a scrambler. Is this a common issue with Triumphs?

Think by now i would be rejecting the bike. You just don't buy a new bike to have these type of problems.
    Joe.
