One does reside in the village of Wolverhampton, where the place (and the football team) is sinking faster than a shopping trolley in a local canal

Don't worry you'll be able to play Gillingham in L1 next year and then you will appreciate your place when you see that shithole

Right, off for an early night as I've got to go and get rid of those firkin' chicken strips and see what the new baby will do. First impressions are a little mixed - there's no doubt it's a better (much better) motorcycle which, in my opinion was a pretty tall order, however, I still prefer the looks of my old one and I have a really sore arse after only about 300 miles. Mind you, the (really nice) bloke I bought it from was a little bit of a chunky monkey and he did say he'd wound the suspension up a bit, and I had a gel seat on the old one, so who knows. I'll report back tomorrow but absolutely no regrets and the bike's in great nick. Well chuffed! woo.gif

Actually.... I've had a very 'interesting' few hours. Riding the bike back yesterday I could tell that it was more planted, especially in the fast sweepers - on the long, curving motorway on and off ramps it was incredibly stable - I was seriously considering getting a steering head damper for the old one. The new one felt a little bit nimbler in the tighter stuff too on the little blast I had before buying it. You're definitely sat more 'in' the new one too and the brakes are superb.

So I took it into Cheshire to see what it's like in the twisty stuff. I was aware that the front tyre was near its limits when I picked it up, well I found them! I like to make progress but I don't actually like the feeling of speed, as such, i.e. when you feel like you're going too fast - I like to feel 100% in control at all times. The front tyre lost it under 'enthusiastic' breaking 3 times today so I decided to call it quits until I get some new rubber. I'm 53 years old and you don't get to this age by not being completely in control so I'll report back when the new boots are fitted and run in!

Sorry it's not a more in depth report but watch this space.

    B

The front one was well squared off but I thought I could coax a few more mile out of it - but think 300 yesterday and the 1st 100 or so this morning completely killed it!
