Hopefully, the storms are over for a while... and I can get my garden furniture out of my garage... I have a couple of winter jobs I want to do on the Tedium before my next ride...

OH POO! Is that your car Wim?

Have to say that a new ali. greenhouse is likely to be cheaper to replace than the cost of repairs to that car! :(

Yep, my car - Mrs. V took it to work last friday so as to be safer than in her Twingo. A billboard mast and sign were blown on top of it. That's going to be expensive...

Thanks DCS. We've still got winds gusting to 50+mph. so I think the replacement greenhouse will be a task tackled in a few weeks time. I also lost a roofing sheet from the shed and the sheet's "flight path" saw it punch two holes in the roofing sheets on another, smaller shed.

No trees down in the garden - thankfully - but the adjacent orchard lost 5 in the one night! You can see two of those in the background of the picture I posted.

Eunice certainly wasn't a welcome guest in this part of the world.

Yikes! Glad it was no worse for you than it was, Adie, and that no one was hurt. I'm sure it was quite frightening.

Wow, Vulpes. That's the pits. I hope that it's not too expensive to repair--or at least is less so than you anticipate. I'm glad that Mrs. V wasn't IN the car when the mast and sign were blown on top of it. Hope you get it dealt with soon and to your satisfaction.

No storms here in Arizona--at least at the moment thankfully. So I took advantage of some very nice weather and a lull in my bronchitis coughing fits this past Sunday to go for a short moto-therapy ride. It turned out to be great therapy for my mental health... but probably not the best choice for my physical health. But it was worth it and it did a lot to improve my attitude after days of coughing so hard day and night that I felt like my abs were an ad for an Ab Roller workout machine.

My Fat Boy, El Gordo, was in a convenient location in the garage and tires didn't need inflating so he was my choice for the day. I just did a 50-miler up to Saddlebrooke, a 55+ "Master-Planned" community built around a golf course. I've posted about Saddlebrooke previously. Today the sky was particularly beautiful with big wispy clouds that my dad used to call "Mares Tails". :sun::cool:

Saddlebrooke is about 15 miles north of Tucson and has expanded over the years. Most of it is built around a golf course and there's big loop around the perimeter of the development. Typically when I do this ride I stop at the local mini-mart for an energy drink or a bite to eat. Today I just rode and enjoyed the day. I'm glad I didn't linger or ride much more than I did because I was running on empty (me, not Gordo) by the time I pulled into the garage.

I did make one stop--at this golf cart crossing. The first photo is looking to the east towards the Catalina Mountains and the second shot is looking to the west and the center off the golf course and Saddlebrooke itself.

This big water feature is on the main road going into and out of Saddlebrooke. There were more golfers out today than I think I've ever seen on my rides around this loop. It was definitely good golfing weather. Or so I've been told by people who golf. ;)

When I pulled into the garage my odometer read 993 miles. I have El Gordo scheduled for a 1K maintenance service appointment on March 1st and it's 10 miles to get to the dealership. I've been sort of trying to time my mileage and my parts arrivals to coincide with that appointment date. But it turns out that my mileage will be closer than my parts arrivals thanks to back orders and "supply chain issues".

Thanks Sandi. It wasn't really so much "frightening" as frustrating. We'd watched the greenhouse visibly swaying and twisting in the wind and had pretty much realised that it was unlikely to survive unscathed. However, I did rather hope that we'd just lose a couple of panes of glass and retain the structure.

No such luck, the whole thing is destined for the waste bin. My wife is now pondering on the replacement and I have to ponder on constructing a more substantial base in a more sheltered spot in the garden! <SIGH>

You might have plenty of time to sort out that base, son moved house last year and wanted a new greenhouse, the order time from many companies was horrendous. :(

My manager tells me she's already ordered it and has been given a four week lead time to delivery! It'll take me that to put a new base down in a (hopefully) less exposed spot in the garden!
