Yes, not a commonly used word today, managed to make up three wrong words with the same middle three letters before it dropped on the 5th go.
Argh… the NY times (on my mobile) is different to the original (on my I-pad), I thought it might be a one off yesterday, but there is still divergence today. On the NY times… I put the answer from the original page as first guess, then figured it out in 5 from there…

A four yesterday but today was my first failure Aaargh. Four solutions and three rows left. Yep, it was the one I didn’t choose. Had I chosen the missing consonant in order of frequency of use it would have been a sixer. Too bloody eager.

Ok, things are getting weird... I have the NY times one on my phone, but the original one on my Ipad. It gives me 2 competitions now I know they’ve bifurcated their answers... So sat in bed just after midnight, waiting for the light to be put out... pops on the phone and scores a 3... NYT = And I just did the original one now... was getting some strange feeling as I completing it, so I threw an old NYT’s answer in (from a couple of days ago) to get it in 4. I hope that doesn’t mean one is following the other by a few days... Original =
4 today. First guess gave me four correct letters - two in the right place, two in the wrong place. Had all four in the correct place on guess number two but hadn't chosen the lucky word....then just a case of not getting the fourth letter right until go number four!
A bleeding frustrating 6 today…Just couldn’t see it …. Can’t even be bothered to fill in the scorecard today. Awake early, got that feeling of impending doom due to the forecast storm as we are sat fairly high and pretty well exposed up in the Chilterns… Good luck all, let’s hope for the best…
