Hi all, I'm thinking about removing the stripes decals from the tank.

So: yes or no? If yes, how easy is it? Are they under a coat of lacquer or glued on with something that takes the paint off as well?!

I've removed a few of the previous owners stickers and would quite like an uncluttered tank.

    Thanks

    Ollie

Hi Ollie, I'm not 100% sure (and a bit pished!) but I think they are over-laquered. Easy enough to check though, just try peeling an edge.

Use a hair dryer or hot air gun to soften the glue on the stickers.

Stick a picture on here as a close up then we can see. If they are just stuck on then the tank will want a polishing mop over it as there will be a build up of residue and colour fade. If the stripes have been lacquered then it's a sand off job.

Hmm. On the basis of this thread I thunk I'll leave them on! I foresee a some very visible, unnecessary and self-inflicted damage

Revo, yes they are lacquered over and lots of them bubble up and look shite but removal will incur costs unless you aint bothered about looks
