I fitted some second hand but as new R&G crash protectors to the T595 today. Fitting was easy but it did seem weird taking the engine mounting bolts out and turning them around! I was also pleasantly surprised at how they fit discretely through the fairing with no modification.

I have some of these on the Z and also had some on the R1 which certainly saved the frame when I came off it.

ebay knows me well - I got a notification from them for that bike and the link is still open .... as is my mind .... but not (quite yet) my cheque book!

    Seriously tempting.

Fitted the constands bolt and tried it (central lift) out.
Results are mixed tbh. Way easier to use IF you lift up the back first as it’s very difficult to hold the bike and put the 2 pins in the hole at the same time…vicar….
Easy from then on. Feels study enough but definitely not to sit on at the same time.
Not as easily done as the constands video would have you believe!
Conclusion? Easier than the abba stand (with wheel lift attachment) and I only paid £100 second hand too (never used). Bargain.

There is definitely a knack to using these stands (the Constands is a copy of the 1Jac original) and it feels uncomfortably precarious getting the bike lifted for the first few times. I have to hold the bike upright with my left hand, lift the 1Jac with my right and kind of push it up and forwards (OOOH.... ER.... BLIMEY, MOTHER!) until it engages both points; then lower the bike back towards me till the jack is on the ground again and then heave on the hoist handle! Seems a bit of a palaver but, once used to it, it does seem to get easier. My wife simply refuses to use the one I got for hers so I have to lift or lower both when we take the Streets out to play!

Once on the stand, though, the manoeuverability is excellent and the bike can be spun 360 deg. in little more than its own length.

Bit of a faf but slowly monkey won over. Very sturdy bits of kit.

Agreed. I've only fitted them to test it as I didn’t want to wait for may and then it goes a bit pear-shaped closer to the time.
    They are off now!
I apologise to the people of wales (in may) as it's a bit bloody wide tbh and equal to an aldis 480 4 wheel caravan (with gas bottle stowage) and liable to be blocking the locals!

If we meet each other coming the other way one of us is going to have to give way! :joy:

I did draw the line at top boxes though (and with high exhausts I have an excuse for the girth). ;)
Likewise, pillion pegs, frame and panniers are all off 99% of the time, only get fitted when off on a tour.
SWMBO has a set for touring on her Street Triple too but they fit a bit closer to bodywork with low exhaust being standard.

Never mind “ Wide load” , your going to have to watch out for Low Bridges with that top box on. Are the blue and green wheelie bins ( in the last photo )coming with you as trailers….? One things for sure, you aren’t going to wear out your front tyre on that trip…But, good prep. Not last minute like I’d be…

Yikes, Adie! That sounds like an accident waiting to happen. I'm with your wife. No stand for me, especially one like you're describing.

Looks like a good, functional setup, @Ducatitotriumph, although I'm with @Wessa about the appearance on your lovely Speed Triple. But what I really want to see is a video of you getting your bike with those panniers and that top box. ;) Hope all goes well with your preparation for your camping trip to Wales in May.

My theory is that he's got an extension to that stand so he can be winched on to it by Mrs Ducatitotriumph. :D
