@Smilinjack , what was bad about that sprint thing you had? Have you still got the speed triple? If your like me I also dislike adventure bikes and especially the gs as I just don’t like the image but there’s other BMWs that are real bits of kit. R1200rs is a real ‘riders’ tool with proper thought out luggage. It’s also a sporty bike, a good pillion carrier and bloody fast enough. The thing is cost wise Kawasakis can be bought far cheaper than BMWs as there’s plenty outside dealerships so can be haggled and that goes for the rest of the jap stuff too mostly but the BMWs have a strong following because it’s good gear that’s discovered only after many years of riding.

There was nothing bad about my Sprint. A quite brilliant bike, but I had to get rid of one of my bikes and that was the nearest one to a decent price so I dumped it. Speed Triple should be going on Sunday. My situation with space and money, among other things, means I can have one bike only, at best. I like my Bonneville, but if I want a proper all rounder I need something else. Z1000SX looks the best blend of what I need and what I can afford. And it's a big K, so it's half sold to me straight off the bat. :)

It’s a shame the speed triple is going as I thought there was some family attachments with that. I can see the pattern, you’ve a retro bike that’s got a good feel of soul, a tourer that worked so well and munched miles and a bank robbers speed triple that makes you come to life. I had same problem of cramming three bikes into one. I’ve now got an Rnine T roadster which I’m modifying to be practical, it’s a retro when i want it to be and nice to look at. It’s also a bank robbers evil thug bike, it’s also a forgiving ‘Labrador’ through town centres and easy to live with and soon when I add ‘real’ luggage and modify it then it becomes a mile munching shire horse.

Green is the only way to go with the Kwacker. Anything else is just being awkward.

Are they heated grips? It looks like wires coming from them but I don’t see an obvious controller? Looks a sleek beast if a little anonymous in the red, but it is more reminiscent of the GPz range... and black and red 900r and 1000rx’s are firmly established in its lineage!

A fair point. I quite like anonymous, same as l like quiet pipes. The zorsts are a bit manga, but l can live with that. TBH if l pulled the trigger it might be as simple as what colour the right bike is. Red or green, l'm cool. Shame l'm not colour blind really.:)

Kawasaki Green is iconic but you may look like a frog if you wear colour matched leathers.
Great bike anyway whether red or green. God luck.

Back in the day when I had a Z650 I did actually have a one piece leather suit in the K colours, sort of Mick Grant rep. Them were t'days lad...:)

Actually, I found this photo stuck on the bike from an anonymous admirer. I think it's 1982. Went to Brittany on that thing
