    hi there.

I was thinking, as the RR is the same bike as the RS, if it could be possible to replace the standard öhlins for an electronic one.

I think it was a mistake not to launch the 1200 RS with electronic suspensions.

I agree, what is the average age of a speed owner in the UK?, most will have some aches and pains, plus our roads are in the main shite. The bike needs a relaxed plush setting.

Couldn't agree more! Triumph have really fucked up with the speed triples. The rs should have the electronic suspension and a better electronic package. The rr should have the hard track focused manual suspension and a full fairing. As it stands, neither bike appeals to me

well my problem is that sometimes I go "exploring" secondary roads, some of them are slow and just for see the landscape, in this situations would be lovely to be able to select "confort" from the buttons. And then once I am in the sport roads select "normal" or "sport"... well you know how electronics work.

may be is going to be "cheaper" to wait for the next RS relase... may be I gonna be too old for a naked... who knows...

Like mcn test said, it's track focused now and who takes a speed triple regularly on a track day more than road riding?
Even on the old 1050rs, i've wound down/out settings to almost minimum (except preload)
Even their "comfort" setting wasn’t imho.....

I’ve done exactly the same. Was ridiculously hard for the road. I’m 15 stone and I was constantly being thrown out the saddle.

If I hadn't have had any success doing it, I was going to sell it. IMHO, it was that bad. Actually dreaded some rides out with mates tbh. That's no way to enjoy a bike with top notch suspension which was one of the reasons i'd bought it.
However, for me now, it's great. 14 stone btw.

I’m sure it would be possible to fit electronic dampers to the RS - it’s just a case of money and how much you’re prepared to throw at it.

Personally, I don’t really care. Once I have it set as I want it, I don’t tend to constantly fiddle with it. If electronic dampers had been a £2k option on the RS would I have specified it? No. I think that most of the RR’s price premium over the RS is down to the electronic dampers.

I bet next year’s RS will have the electronic suspension. Maybe Triumph hadn’t finished development on it in time for the 2021 Speed Triple?

Both bikes appeal to me…. but I’d wait for the 2022 Speedy RS with the plush suspension or wait for HeliBars to make a riser kit for the RR :grinning:

As its a new model, always best to wait for the 2nd or 3rd gen as it gets "fine tuned"

Hi Tomeu, unfortunately you can't retro fit the front and rear Ohlins electronic suspension to the RS, an awful lot is different (electronics) and much more, having ridden a machine with the Ohlins electronic suspension it is way way superior to the non electronic Ohlins on my machine, the ride is an awful lot plusher, it soaks up undulations and bumps with ease, a lot nicer and comfortable ride.

It belongs to one of my son's although I ride it regularly, it's a Panigale 1299s, it is tuned and has a full Akro race system on it, dealer fitted currently running 220 BHP on the dyno
