in the UK we have a National Health System, it’s free for all. The problem, however, is that there is now a huge backlog of people waiting for routine procedures such as knee and hip replacements where patients are having to wait 6month, 12 months and in some cases even longer. Cancer treatments are being cancelled or postponed, the NHS is in a shables. Almost every person admitted to an intensive care unit with Covid in the UK are unvaccinated. There selfish people are consuming valuable NHS resources and I for one have had enough. They have every right to refuse a vaccination but there should be a consequence - they should be made to pay for their stupidity and fund their treatment privately.
That’s not quite what I mean by ‘afterthought’. I meant more in the sense that you can’t always predict what ailment you may acquire that needs treatment. As in my case, which was optical related.
Health care is not free, your tax dollars pay for it. Going with your own idea that selfish people are taking up space because they will not not get the vaccine answer one question. Should people that smoke pay for, or be penalized for, their choice to smoke when they need hospital care?
So what is the NIH doing to prevent cure COVID in people that are not vaccinated? Are they prescribing Ivermectin? HCQ? are they at least offer any therapeutics at the onset of COVID? If not, it is a lack of health care professionals doing their job rather than the people that choose medical freedom fill the hospitals.
Not sure you can compare the two. Smoking is undoubtedly bad for your health, just like drink, but neither are likely to have the same level of impact on others as the virus being spread by folk. So sorry you don’t have a valid argument here. Keep trying to find a valid argument to support your choice not to get vaccinated.
Not when it infringes on freedom. Should the Amish be forced to vaccinate? This would be a huge infringement on their beliefs.
I was talking more about taking up space in the hospital or causing your own health issues via a bad life choice. I was not stating that smoking is contagious.
Ok fair point with regard life choices. However, the impact on the health services cannot be compared with covid, so it is still not valid.
Can't you see the obvious point ? It is the NONE VACCINATED that are being admitted to hospital, NOT the VACCINATED. THE NONE VACCINATED ARE TAKING ALL THE BEDS. Of course the patients in hospital all get fantastic treatment given by dedicated and very well trained staff.
@Golgotha has the secret to eternal immunity (that’s evaded the finest minds in the world..) so hook up with him on his 80 degree island? Ow, go on…. Take your MAGA hat too otherwise he won’t recognise you as a friend…
I can only speak for the one hospital that I have seen recently. I had to go to a rather large local hospital a couple of weeks ago to visit one of my guys that had a minor heart attack. By the way he is 34 in great shape and got out of the Army about a year ago. The local news keeps telling us that the area hospitals are overflowing but I didn't see it. In fact I saw empty beds and barley anyone in the area. The big problem this hospital is having is a staffing issue since they fired anyone not wiling to get vaxxed, not a space issue. There are multiple reports from around the country that the issue is the same in other places.
Yes. New Jersey, USA. One of the "hardest hit" areas in the US and the reports tell us daily that our hospitals are over flowing but I didn't see it.
Hummm? Should people be drafted into the Army? Even in times of War? That would infringe upon their Freedom.
