I have a 1998 T595 which has a small fuel leak. The fuel is leaking from one of two small nipples on the bottom left side rear of the tank behind the seat bodywork unit. What are they? Drain plugs? One has a rubber seal which I suspect may be perished.

Welcome to the family. I would say the o'ring on your fuel connection is perished. Yes also there it an overflow pipe there that does block every so often piece of fine wire usually clears that out. Best chance of knowing is take a couple of pictures and then hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and we can see what it looks like.
    Joe.
