Congrats to your wife on her new Chief, @RebelHawk! I'm curious to know what she thinks of it and what drew her to it. I test rode one of the new Chiefs a little while back and liked it--though not enough to consider trading one of my bikes for one. :) But I'm even more curious to know her reasons for her trade. BTW, I love that Rocket 3 GT of yours.

She actually had an Indian Scout Bobber and the Speed Twin that she traded in. The Speed Twin was a little tall for her so she was on tip toes when coming to stops and she was really never really comfortable on it. The Scout just had no suspension so it was a rough ride on any thing other than short around town hops. This gets her something that is still height wise comfortable for her and a little more forgiving on longer rides but keeps that same blacked out look that she loves.

Today marked exactly three years since I bought my 2019 Speed Triple RS. :) I don't work on Tuesdays, so when all of my chores were done and the bills were paid, Speedy and I hit the road for a short afternoon anniversary ride.
    IMG_4568.jpeg

I had one errand to run so our first stop was the nearby UPS store to return a squeaky toy I'd bought for Ellie for Christmas. Unfortunately, there was no squeak to the squeaker so back it went. The toy was big and my tail bag is small, but the bag has one of those expand-o-matic zippers which makes it taller and that worked like a charm to give me just enough room to fit the XL Moose inside. Mr. Moose didn't ride to the store like this, of course, but here he is enjoying the fresh air before he's sealed up in the return packaging.

I decided our next stop would be to AZ-KKT, my local Triumph dealership and the place where I bought my Speed Triple. Here's a photo from that day three years ago taken by the same salesman that's still there today and who sold me the bike.
    IMG_2234.JPG

And today he took this photo. Yep, that's the same riding jacket.
    IMG_4577.jpeg

I met an AZ-KTT customer named Fred out in the parking lot before I went inside the dealership. He had this great dog named Braveheart who was a big chunk of a dog and a real sweetheart.

After saying hello to the folks I know who work at Triumph World and checking out what was out on their showroom floor, Speedy and I hit the road again. On Speedy's first anniversary I did a ride similar to this one and had gone to Amy's Donuts for an apple fritter. So I decided it would be fun to go back to Amy's where I'd gone two years ago. One year ago we were in the throes of Covid and Amy's was closed. I wasn't sure they'd be open at 3:00 in the afternoon today but it was on the way home so I figured it didn't hurt to check. ;):yum
    IMG_4608.jpeg

Amy's was open but I was disappointed to see that they'd sold out of apple fritters. :sob: I'll have to get there earlier. The young woman behind the counter said that they're open every day from 5:00am until midnight. I "settled" for a blueberry old fashioned cake donut instead and it was delicious!
    IMG_4613.jpeg

Each of these last few photos is of my Speed Triple parked next to a mural. There are many murals in Tucson and I've thought it would be fun to make a bit of a game out of finding the photographing each one. A few of you may remember the first mural which is on the east wall of the Amy's Donuts building. The other two murals are side by side on another building just down the street from Amy's.

It was a short but sweet anniversary ride. The weather was cooperative at 72ºF with cloudy but dry skies and light traffic. My bike is running like a champ and is a hoot to ride. :grinning: Fred asked me if I was considering a trade for the S3RR and my answer was...NOPE! I love the Speed Triple I already own.

Despite low temperatures, I used my "Siberian Tiger" for my ride to the office in Vienna today.
Along the 61 km across the highway, temperatures have ranged from -3.5 degrees Celsius (25.7 F) to + 3.5 degrees (38.3 F) Celsius. For the journey home in the afternoon I can expect about 7 degrees Celsius (44.6 F). But then in the most glorious weather! ;)
    P.S. I love my heatgrips!!!

I’ll be totally honest @Sandi T i’d have ridden past that place as it looks a little uninviting at first glance.

However it must be a great find if it’s a regular haunt.

Makes me wonder how many amazing and interesting places I’ve missed on my travels due to quickly formed opinions and bias.

To be totally honest back, @Cyborgbot, we did ride right past this place for years! :p It was our riding buddy, Kelly, who said he'd seen it when he was out at the shooting range which is off the same road and suggested we give it a try. You're so right about how we likely miss places due to quickly--and often erroneously formed opinions.

After seeing you earlier post about the temperatures you've been riding in, @Markus, it's understandable why you envy my local weather. Yikes!!:scream:

I'll share your birthday wishes with Speedy, and I'm sure he will appreciate the sentiment, Adie! :grinning::kissing_heart:

Was never happy with the silver Triumph logo on the Rocket GT. Trying out another logo but still not sure on it. Any thoughts? I may make it "logoless" as the paint job doesn't seem to lend itself to any available logos

I would think if you doubled the surface area of that logo and placed the bottom of the vee in the same place, it’s look pretty cool.

The shape of the tank makes it difficult due to it curving just above where the top of the logo is currently. It would need to be a sticker and put on by a more capable person! Something along the lines of the Bond Scrambler but not as big?

There are a lot of amazing and awesome murals all around Tucson, @SleepyOwl. I've now got the bug to do some research and some exploring to find lots more of them. Plus now my eyes are open for murals whenever I'm driving or riding through town. I'll definitely "park, pic, and post" whoever possible!

Fitted a radiator guard, as shown in my payday project thread. When I took of the cover of the bike and opened the garage for some more natural light, I could swear I heard a little sigh coming from the bike.

I don’t know why they didn’t do Triumph script in carbon fibre look, to sync with the bike but be subtle??

Seems to be a common theme with some recent releases @SleepyOwl , our Prez wanted an update for his Scrambler and our resident design man came up with below. He also changed his triple black logo too
