The ridiculous regs and restrictions you cats have to put up with over there are unimaginable.

Shit, how much you need? I'll mail you a spool.

:joy: thanks mate, just went on eBay and ordered from a smaller company lacking a H&S department (hopefully that will be more successful)

Why are they selling helmets that are "pinlock ready" ffs. Just stick the bit of plastic in the box with the helmet. Its like selling a tv which is "remote ready". What a load of bollocks

I've had exposure to some Brit HSE personnel, policy, and protocols over the years. Fortunately I didn't really have to deal with it, I just got to witness my Brit co-workers enduring it all. That is some serious bullshit. To add insult to injury the "enforcers" were typically clueless little wimps who looked like they'd never so much as wrenched on a car or thrown a hammer in their lives. They probably couldn't even change a tire.

I hear Australian HSE is even worse.

My uncle designed power stations. He wasn’t however qualified to change a 13A plug as he didn’t have a certificate.

    Mental.

No point in closing the barn door @Wessa, the horse bolted a long time ago and the landscape has changed…
"It struck me that it would be a real missed opportunity if we replaced Clark Kent with another straight white saviour," said Mr Taylor.
… and straight and white is a trope for cliché figures now, that are being reviled.

There's a weird irony in the fact that, if "straight and white" didn't exist then neither would so many of these whining, whimpering apologists ...... and there'd be NONE of the 'straights'.

I don't have a problem with treating them with respect and embracing (metaphysically at least) their proclivities butthere's something seriously amiss when history, nature, tradition and common sense are all individually and collectively uprooted, discarded, twisted and changed simply to meet the demands of this new world order minority.

Will someone please try to stop Charles Darwin's body from spinning .........

    It’s not Clark Kent, it’s his son… J°ñ kEñt…
DC Comics said the pair will become romantically involved in the upcoming fifth issue, after Jon "mentally and physically burns out from trying to save everyone that he can".
That doesn’t really sound like Superman to me, he should have his own character and not be the Man of Steel.
    Oh well…

I’m sure a lot of you remember Dave Allen, for those of you that haven’t heard of him he was an Irish comedian who who had countless series on tv throughout the 80s and 90s. He would just sit on a swivel chair, smoking and having a whiskey telling jokes that were stories. His sketches were hilarious, he took the rip out of religion something rotten. The reason for this post is that one of his stories was about homosexuality as it was referred to then. In a nutshell he spoke of periods of history and the punishments inflicted on men for being homosexual. It’s a long time since I heard this so it is not 100% accurate but you will get the gist.” in the 16th century if a man was thought to have looked at a man in a particular way he would be hanged, in the 18th century he would be sent to Australia, in the 19th century he would be sent to prison, in the 20th century he would be chemically castrated.”
His closing line has always stuck in my mind for at least 30yrs.
“ Thank fuck I will be dead before it is compulsory “

All this force-fed over sexualization and homosexuality in entertainment has gone from accustomization to the straight up grooming of youth. It doesn't stop there in the US either. We're having a real problem with it in schools. Some material amounts to nothing less than child pornography and exploitation. Children as young as 5 are being targeted. Parents are starting to stand up to it, but just as that began to get traction the Biden administration took some initial steps to criminalize parents who stand up against various school officials.

I seen a picture somewhere, some awards ceremony or the like. There was a group of porn stars sitting next to a group of pop singers. The pop stars looked like porn stars and the porn stars were dressed decently. Says a lot really

I see the TV adverts for "I'm a so called celebrity, give me some money and then you can get me out of here." have started already. I've never been a fan of the geordie hobbits jungle show myself but its obviously been popular over the years I'll admit that, but FFS isn't it time it was pensioned off?

I guess it gives the odd soap opera actor a few bob to keep the wolf from the door. Mebbe its just me and everyone else likes it, but frankly if that's the level of entertainment that people aspire to watching. i.e. people making themselves look utter pillocks on TV, then I give up. :(

Celebrity used to mean you were good at something. It just means you got your tits out now

Wow I could become famous and a celebrity if I got my tits out? It kind of makes sense in an era where we embrace what was a decade ago a sure indication you’d lost the plot - it seems necessary that you must dress as Nora Battry and call yourself Shirley to even be considered normal these days.

Nice to know that in some parallel universe my moobs would be appreciated by someone, somewhere, eventually…

I’ll not hold my breath for my first fan letter.

Edit: I bet using the term ‘being normal ’ is now a hate crime.
