I want a rail to hang my bike stuff on. ‘So what’s the problem’, you’re thinking. Well, there isn’t one really but it did get me wondering, does anyone have any odd/clever/innovative solutions for storing your biking gear? As for my own quest for a biking garment hanging solution, I found a simple rail at Argos for the princely sum of £10. Good value or cheap tat that’ll fall apart within a year, doesn’t really matter at that price. But what gave me pause was the banner in the page stating ‘In time for Christmas’. A few thoughts… 1. It’s the 26th October so I’d bloody hope you can deliver for Christmas. 2. Who buys a cheap clothes rail as a Christmas present? 3. It’s October - STOP TALKING ABOUT CHRISTMAS! And relax…
His 'n Hers biker tidies in this house; pricey but really really strong as opposed to the rails that used to buckle under the weight of Mr Visor's jackets! Hopefully an end to "buy cheap, buy twice" (or more)...... https://www.get-tidy.com/bikertidy
I've thought about one of those for the garage but my kit is split between there (helmets, gloves) and the house (jackets, trousers etc). The itility room where I keep stuff is built but not finished so I don't want to put anything on the wall yet, hence the cheap, free-standing rail option.
These are the free standing option if that makes a difference; I have to admit I was anti them at first because of the price....Mr V tends to buy things and tell me afterwards how much they cost as I worry about it more than him!!
We live out in the countryside and when we moved to our current house I used to leave my gear hanging up in the garage. Unfortunately the first year I did this I didn’t expect a mouse or mice to chew half my gear…! I ended up with holes in my leathers, a half eaten rukka arm and boots full of the stuffing from a destroyed outdoor cushion. We left some bird food in the garage so my boots were also full of nuts….It looked like mouse nirvana in there….Coincidentally my leathers were also chewed through just near my nuts….Added ventilation..
I have this from an old Ducati shop that stopped trading. I put a shelf on the top for helmets and I just hang jackets/rucksacks on it with coat hangers or hooks. I put those plastic boxes thingies on the metal bars (at the bottom) for gloves etc.. It was for the Ducati scrambler t-shirts etc. For sale btw! £50. bargain!
