Totally agree. But this week we should reserve it’s use to Labour.

Other party conferences will be coming up soon and we and enjoy targeting our ridicule and sarcasm on each in turn.

Best not to overdo things. Stay focused.

And then the auction off the petrol because despite having a valid name and address (of recipient and sender) they didn’t know what to do with the package.

@Dave49 you are a naught boy. May I do something to balance the equation and post something about all the many SNP issues at the moment. I have been really wanting to do so, but have respected the truce. ;)o_O

All of them will provide plenty of material for piss-taking (although some piss-taking is a bit infantile). The only trouble is that if we dismiss all politicians as self-seeking tossers (which many, but not all, of them are), nothing ever gets changed, which is greatly to the benefit of those currently at the top of the heap with their noses in the trough. I think most of us would agree that a lot needs changing.

You are free to say what you like about the SNP as far as I'm concerned: I ain't a member. It's independence I'm in favour of, not the SNP particularly.

PS. I thought your view of Bunter was no more favourable than mine.

Let’s say your temperature towards Bunter is 0 kelvin.

Mine is .1 degree higher which means we think much the same of him.

As for independence. I’m also all for it but genuinely don’t think people have thought it through.

People in Scotland (and for that matter all the the UK) hate Westminster as it’s out of touch and doesn’t understand local issues yet think going under the influence (total power) of Brussels and being a minnow in the European discussions is somehow better.

Please, I implore you, explain the logic.

My lesson tomorrow will be how without our National over contribution per capita Scotland will can be replaced when oil/gas incomes will fall due to ethical (climate) issues and Green Party alliances.

We can decide later on day three’s debate.

I guess it's a question of the lesser of evils. As a small country, we can never be truly independent (as the UK itself is currently finding out). However, as part of the UK, we are subject to constant rule by a party we haven't voted for since 1955. "Politicians we haven't voted for, taking us in a direction we haven't chosen", as Nicola put it last year. At least in the EU we would have a veto on many issues and equal status with other small nations like Ireland, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, etc. I don't like the EU much, but at the moment we are shackled to a country in terminal decline and in love with its past. We need a new start.
Anyway, this is all a bit heavy for a motorcycle forum. I think we should leave our private political disagreements out of it, and get on with general banter and piss-taking. :)

Scotland isn’t a Nation, it has the population of a large city. We wouldn’t get a veto ffs.

Greater Manchester and other localities (like Scotland) with similar(ish) populations are so ingrained in their political beliefs it has become DNA. In Scotland more so. Almost Nationalistic. Patriotism is good, Nationalism is discriminating.

Pity as the hatred some in Scotland have to their Southern kin doesn’t project in the other direction. Frankly most English are slightly baffled.

Agree - let’s get back to enjoying the joke, gentle piss taking etc.

These days in the U.S., Dave, I've noticed that I and all those I know simply assume that others may be carrying a gun. Gone are the days of shaking a fist at a driver who buzzes or cuts you off, tailgates, etc. They just may pull up next to you and start firing. It's pretty nuts. :( So, yes, at least this Prius driver is making it easier to identify him or herself as most probably a gun-totin' citizen.

"Scotland isn't a Nation, it has the population of a large city". Checking populations of European countries, Scotland is on a par with Denmark, Finland and Slovakia, and larger than Ireland, Croatia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Latvia, Estonia and Cyprus. I think we qualify.

By the same argument there are several cities (many around the world) that should be their own sovereign state on the basis they have a unique identity and masssssive population . London for example.

Oh heck, you may have a point there.

Can we all agree to evict London from the UK and maybe everyone else would get on together?
