Hey folks New to the forum, new to motorbikes, hell I'm new to owning motorised transport! My names Dan, as the title suggests I'm from Glasgow. I work for the University of Strathclyde at the Advanced Forming Research Centre doing business development and I'm writing up my engineering doctorate. Passed my test last month and treated myself to an '08 T100, I absolutely love it and can see motorbikes consuming a significant chunk of my life! Attached pictures of the bike (and my silly beardy face) below. Only had her a month but tinkering has already begun. Now has NH Toga silencers and a Dart screen courtesy of ebay, with Hagon rear shocks in the post. As a new rider I am keen to catch up with others locally, share wisdom and enjoy the lovely Scottish roads (not the potholed ones in Glasgow itself). If anyone sees me about shout hello! Dan
Hi dan nice beardy face and did you know triumph did a triple in your partner/ friends hair colour? Could be a match made in Hinkley! Anyway lovely looking bike, and by the reports from our Scottish members you've got some great roads to discover , press here to start your journey
Hi crispey. Not sure I'd get her on a triple, she's set on a scooter! Happy to ride pillion on the bonnie though so all good. There are indeed some glorious roads round here, thanks for the link for inspiration. After years of cycling I am looking forward to travelling further and faster than my legs can manage.
Hi Dan, welcome to the forum. Only passed my test two years ago and I can confirm that motorbikes will become a significant chunk of your life. An old guy once told me that it's a disease - like an addiction and he wasn't wrong! Cool beard - you should consider taking part in this years Distinguished Gentleman's Ride in September - you and the bike will fit right in. Luckily there is one in Glasgow. https://www.gentlemansride.com/rides/scotland/glasgow - check out the 2015 Gallery.
Hey dan... Man, we (basically) really have an identical bike ! We need to get a ride soon, I feel I'm as new as you are ! And yeah, never owned a motorised vehicule before. I'll definitively be in that one... Looking forward to meet you pal...
Thanks, good to know the sickness is common . Will certainly be attending the Gentleman's Ride. Question is; do I get an open face helmet especially for the event to let the beard breath? It is a small world, ending up with near identical bikes as our first forms of transport within weeks of each other. Definitely catch up when we've both stopped buying gear and can start buying petrol
Welcome in Dan great bike and great beard you wear it well mate, enjoy the Bonnie and also the crack on here, and my vote says open face everytime
Thanks guys, good to know we are all mad here. Not sure that is the most gentlemanly of attire crispey
Seem to be attracting a lot of my fellow countrymen I used to like the A82 till they sanitised it. Was a nice road but always was busy but then they modernised it. Welcome in Dan from the Scot who invaded Chester
Bushy beard and mustache wax it is then Thanks, think I'll still need to get out and enjoy the A82, sanitised or not, it does start less than a mile from my front door after all.
