Been planning another Ireland tour for some time, had to cancel twice for obvious reasons. Last Monday we finally got to set off :)
Day 1 wasn't much to write about, more of a day collecting everybody and making our way down to the south coast. Picked up @Sprinter in Larne that morning then on to Belfast to meet @Dougie D and Lou. Headed out of Belfast for a lap round the Ulster Grand Prix.

We took some nice local twistys till we got to the boarder and it was motorway from then on just to get the miles done (about 370).
Met up with Ken at Rosslare with perfect timing! Then the final 120 miles to our hotel just below Cork. A lot of miles covered but day 2 was going to be into the good stuff
Didn't know if this was a bad sign though when we noticed the hotel wallpaper was straight out of the Shining :joy:

But it was sure good to meet and drink with good friends and officially be on tour again :)

i stayed at Lou's house in Ayrshire on the Sunday night as we were getting the ferry to Belfast at 7.30am the next day, i took the long way to his house taking the Dunoon ferry to Gourock, i stopped of at Chainsaw craft down the side of loch Eck before getting the ferry, i think I've already put some of his work up on the forum a few years ago but it's worth showing it again

All work and no riding make Jack a dull boy…

Id love to do a bike tour of Ireland. Been ages but I’ve driven around the country. I’ll have to say it’s hard to pick a favorite area, but Galway, Cork, Kerry are right up there. How would the bike/camping situation be? Can’t really remember seeing camping spots, but I might not have been looking past the Guinness.

Day 2 was set to be a good one! Beautiful weather and roads. We made are way along the south coast to the Beara Peninsula and the Healy pass, I've been waiting over 2 years to ride this again! We all had a blast  we even had a few spectators at the top, one chap came over and commented how much fun it looked like we were having :)

This little scene can also be found at the top of the pass.

Over the other side, the views are jaw dropping but we didn't stop. Luckily Dougie posted a pic from the last time. It's such a nice place, we could have stopped dozens of times. Our next stop was a nice little lay-by on round the peninsula

The pictures don't do it justice. Even the Scottish guys were blew away :joy:

After a lap of the Beara Peninsula it was north to Killarny for our overnight stop with more stunning roads and views along the way

It was a hell of a good day! Throughly enjoyed by all. Well earned drinks at the hotel then down the town for a fantastic Chinese :yum I'm not a fan of Chinese food generally but it was bloody gorgeous! And of course followed by more beer and a fine cigar.. what a day... and a great wind down afterwards, it really doesn't get any better :)

I live on the same land mass and have only been down there twice! Shame on me :sob:
But in truth its actually closer for me to jump on a ferry and head to Scotland! Either way, Scotland and Ireland is the best biking this country has to offer in my opinion. I know technically Ireland is Europe but its all part of the common travel area so fairly straightforward :)

I was away from home for 8 days in total.
Went the long way to Stranraer, so I could take in Glencoe, and spent the night in Dumbarton. Next day was down to Stranraer via Lous house for a tea break, Cheers Lou. Took the scenic route down to A712.
Early morning onto the ferry and Andy met me straight off the boat. Fantastic host for the week. Met Dougie and Lou off the ferry in Belfast then weaved through the back roads down to Republic the loads of motorway miles to get us down to Cork.
We had a fantastic trip, I managed to nearly hit an Ambulance, but thats another story, and for some reason could only hear out of one ear all week, none of this managed to dampen my enthusiasm for Andy's tour.
We were lucky with the weather and only had 3 hours of actual rain all week.
I learned loads about riding from some of these guys and enjoyed their company too. The bike was faultless and the roads and scenery where 1st class.
Southern Ireland is a fantastic country, and would recommend it as a holiday location to anyone.

Day 3 started off a little cooler which was welcome, previous day was around 28°! Nice and dry :) straight out of Killarney and onto some epic twistys! Brilliant fun was had as we made our way onto the ring of Kerry. Didn't have many pictures, I think we were having too much fun :joy: after a lap of the ring it was onwards to the Dingle peninsula and the Conor pass. These were more great roads. You had to have been there but much fun was had  this is the view from the top of the Conor pass as the bikes cooled off a bit

Then back down to Tralee for food, beer, craic and sleep. The towns and villages in Ireland are beautiful.

Day 4 started off a bit damp, but it didn't last long. Lovely morning in Tralee!
    1631908097255.jpg
We headed north to Tarbert to get a ferry and avoid Limerick. Basically headed up the coast on our way to Cliften
    1631908106417.jpg
Nice roads again as we passed through the Burren, very strange and rocky landscape, they filmed Father Ted in this area. Great twisty roads and a place called corkscrew hill :).
Further up it gets really good again. Connemara, one of the nicest areas in Ireland

    Another brilliant day.

A brilliant ride report @andyc1, @Dougie D, and @Sprinter! So many of those photos are absolutely stunning. Thanks for taking the time to take photos and to share your adventures in pictures and words. :kissing_heart: Reports like this really make me want to do a motorcycle trip to places like this in Europe.
