Well that's really decent of you mate. Thank you. I think eliminating the ECU would be a big help. And yes i am trustworthy :) You are right about the 3 pot howl, I heard a T160V, scream through my village when i was a nipper, and never forgot it. Email me at mickreynolds56@zoho to make arrangements please.

    • Where the fuel line(s) join the t piece on the carb assembly there is a tiny fuel filter, check that is clean.
    • Run the bike with the fuel tap in "prime" just in case you have a fuel tap problem, otherwise it needs a vacuum to open the tap. Even if you have the vacuum line still run in prime to rule out poor fuel flow.
    • These bikes don't like airbox mods unless the carbs have been properly setup for an air box delete. If you think the carbs are stock buy a new airbox, they are available new and include the filter.
    • There is a metal jet hole in the plastic of the float bowl assembly, it is part of the choke circuit and blocks easily, clean with a piece of wire and measure float heights when refitting the floats and adjust to specification. Take out the choke plungers and blow air through them through the external copper pipe and make sure the circuit is clear.

Thank you for that. I fitted a fuel tap kit from Sprint manufacturing, so that should be fine. I will try your other suggestions though. EDIT I just watched the video, now i am not so convinced the tap rebuild kit is worth the hassle. A new tap seems the answer,

I had the kit too, it worked for a while but it wasn't great, I ended up buying a whole new tap. Good luck.

The vacuum gasket part, is just another total bollocks of a design. So easy to damage it while fitting, it's ridiculous. You are right, A complete new tap is the answer i reckon,
