No we never met before. That forum can be positively powerful, that's right.
Now about the plate. We have there a local meal called "tartiflette" Potatoes, onions, bacon, covered with a "reblochon" cheese.
Just out from owen. No reason to ruin it transferring it in a plate :).
And a bottle of local white wine "Chignin" from the Bergeron vineyard.

Yesterday started off with what would be the last high pass of this trip. Going to make my way back to NL.
Cormet de Roselend, 1.986 metres altitude.
    20210908_090802.jpg
Then on towards Annecy, nice riding along the lake. From there I made my way to the Vosges, along very nice country roads.
I found a "biker hotel", run by countrymen, so a nice evening was had.

Today I first made a detour to the Col Grand Ballon. I was there last year, but the weather was awful then. So I wanted to make the most of todays good weather, and ride it in the dry this time.

Another great day and photos as well mate. Which hotel are you staying at. When I went to Vianden I stayed in the hotel Petry , that was back in 2005 lol

I'm staying at the Beim Hunn - from the Petry that's across the bridge and up toward the castle. Big advantage is they've got a locked garage for the bike, and an excellent cook!

Yes the locked garage is a big plus. The Petry only has the car park. Mind Vianden is a beautiful place and the roads around are great. We went up the chair lift where the views are amazing down the valley :)

Annecy is wonderful and a simply beautiful place. We (5 of us) went the on a bike trip 6 years ago.
I've always wanted to return but it's never on my way to anywhere since.
    Enjoy sir!

A locked garage for the bike and an excellent cook, two of life's simple pleasures. ;)
