Speed Triple 1200 Rs

    I'm 80kg in kit. Don't know what base settings are standard as just had a test ride on local twisites so no hand book, but I can't believe everyone feels its stiff.

    I left the front alone, but added 10 clicks of comp and rebound to the rear and let 10psi of the rear tyre and it was much better. Held a line coming out of corners instead of understeering and much better grip on the stock tyres. Would have liked a bit more preload on the rear, as felt it had a rearward weight bias, but couldn't adjust that on test ride.

    Loved the brakes big improvement, the engine needs revs but goes well if you pile the revs on and then it makes you giggle, although way to quiet. Good bike, less mental than a streetfighter v4 and arguably better for it. Want to try a KTM 1290 next.

    Your new beast is gorgeous, @Bmwjay1000rr! Too bad about the engine covers and tank scratches but glad they are covered under warranty. Enjoy that new bike!!

    First in Croatia. Bought it last month after 2 years of owning tuono v4 aprc 2013.
    After 1800 km on it, I could tell on suspension subject that I did't find it problematic. It is not stiffer than it was on my tuono, or on any r bike I owned

    I’m getting an indicated 135 miles from full to empty with the light coming on after about 110 miles. Not had the chance to ride it ‘properly’ yet as the first service is next week so expecting that to drop in the future.

    This was my biggest concern before I picked it up as my last bike had an 18L tank and a 130 mile range too.

    What are people doing during the run in period? The handbook says don’t exceed 3/4 max speed for the first 500 miles, but I assume that means max engine speed, so 3/4 equates to approx 8k rpm?

    I've been giving mine some rite stick.....full throttle in 2nd and 3rd gear......surely it would make better bhp on dyno giving it some welly from new ,I Don't mean bounce it off the limiter.......

    I was very unsure of the styling when I first saw the press images. Think they look much better in members photos.

    Hi everyone!

    I just picked up my Speedy last month. I absolutely love the ride. The engine is FANTASTIC! I do wish we could turn off the wheelie control while keeping the ABS, but minor concerns. The suspension is fabulous! I'm a big boy 250 lb (113K), and kicking the dampening/rebound down a few notches mad her rather plush. I honestly think I'll have to put in new springs if I really want to push her at the track. I love that she came with both the pillion seat and the cowl! LOVE! There is zero storage on this bike. The tool-kit for the bike certainly wouldn't fit beneath the seat. I'm sure that light weight beast = loss of plastic = loss of empty space. The seat is not great. I'm probably going to get a seat pad that I can stash in a backpack when I want to go fast. The computer is easy to use and intuitive. I wish we could have finer adjustment on things like the ABS and traction control. I ordered both windscreens, but only the bottom has come in, and I haven't had a chance to install. I'm about to put on side tank pads which breaks my heart; I love the "RS", and overall she is just a beautiful machine.

    Sadly, I've had a major problem as I was doing my break-in. I did the first 300 miles according to the break-in sticker- never going above 5k rpm. But after speaking with my local Triumph tech, I did 300-450 miles fairly hard; I was going all through the rev's and pushing quite a bit. During that trip, I had some weird warning lights come on; the battery/electrical light would flash briefly but immediately disappear, and nothing was saved in the "warnings" section of the console.

    Then I went on my next ride. I wasn't even riding hard this time. I was doing a canyon with my cruise set at 55mph in 4th gear. Right around the 480 mile mark, I got a Transmission, a Check Engine, and a Battery warning light. The Battery light vanished and wasn't saved in the "warnings", but the Transmission and Check Engine stuck. The bike put itself into the "limp home mode" and I made it home.

    This was 7/25/21. My local dealer told me that they didn't know what they were doing with the new electronics package and they had called in to corporate Triumph. Corporate advised to charge the battery and just reset the codes.

    7/31/21 - 20 minutes after picking her up at the dealer and maybe 30 miles, all of the warning lights are back. I take her right back to the dealer.

    8/9/21 - Haven't heard a word.

    It’d be lighter and noisier at the very least. Give them a call? Agree that the dyno map/chart should be available if you are paying £600

    So, I’ve had my bike a week now and I’ve made four journeys totalling 250 miles, and even though I’m running it in I’m absolutely loving it

    BUT. The keyless and Bluetooth functions are very frustrating because they’re incredibly unreliable. On the four occasions I’ve used the bike, it’s twice refused to recognised the key when it’s in my pocket, so I’ve had to faff around to dig it out so the bike will start. Same problem with the keyless petrol cap - very hit and miss whether it’s going to recognise the key. On my four rides the Bluetooth has dropped out three times and won’t reconnect unless you stop the bike and turn the ignition off and back on. I only want the Bluetooth for the Navigation function.

    Are others suffering these problems, or do I have a specific problem? It seems odd that I’m struggling with both the keyless system and the Bluetooth! Perhaps Triumph are notoriously bad at these things generally or perhaps it’s user error!!!

    Try new batteries, sorted all my issues with the keyless.
    For the Bluetooth and the navigation, speaking to dealers they are very unreliable for iPhones running later OS.

    I stopped using the Bluetooth and ordered a beeline for nav

    shame on such an expensive bike, and find the BS answers for the nav and Bluetooth to be lame when they should be working with the vendors to fix

    My phone is an android device (android 11) so it isn’t just iPhone that it’s unreliable with.

    strange you should mention beeline, I was looking at their website this afternoon as a possible alternative if the bike Bluetooth can’t be fixed.

    Haven't had a problem with the key - apart form I keep turning it off and then forgetting to turn it on again... :confused:

    Not going to bother with the bluetooth - I've got a tomtom satnav that works well enough for me and after reading the reviews on the triumph app, I'm not going to waste my time downloading it!
