Well I bet they weren’t wearing fleeces with wolfs heads on them! That was one of the fads in Gt Yarmouth not so long ago with jogging bottoms and unwashed hair. Lovely!

Fleeces, eh? Did that make them sheep in wolf's clothing?

I grew up just ten miles from these places, and despite Yarmouth being closer there was a very good reason we always went to Norwich (ie, in the opposite direction) to go shopping or for nightlife...

(Before some smartarse points it out, yes I know that the cartoonist has made a mistake, and the second person plural should be 'amatis'. I still think it's quite funny, though.)

Brings back memories of learning to read, write and speak Latin (badly) in my teens. Main problem was copying it from the board to the book with La Plume de ma Tante, which never worked half the time!

An 85-year-old man had to do a sperm count for his physical exam. The doctor gave the man a jar and said. "Take this home and bring back a sample tomorrow."
The next day, the 85-year-old man reappeared at the doctor’s office and gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous day.
The doctor asked what happened and the man explained…
“Well, doc, it’s like this, first I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but still nothing. Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then with her left, still nothing. She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her teeth out, still nothing. We even called up Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first with both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezin’ it between her knees, but still nothing."
The doctor was shocked. "You asked your neighbour? Good heavens!"
The old man replied. "Yep, none of us could get the jar open."

I gave up Latin after O Level, but it was quite fun while it lasted. There were frequent grammar tests, and anyone scoring too low would be told by the old Latin master, in his deep, sonorous voice, "Exe et paginam accipe". They had to go out and collect a sheet of paper and write out the correct version 100 times. Under that pressure, I have remembered a surprising amount!
