Guess they are a bit thick and cant work out the difference between being in the EU or being in Europe.

I think it's pretty obvious that the front page of The National is not meant seriously, but is very tongue in cheek. (Although the way the English tabloids like to resurrect the 1966 World Cup is a bit wearying, so I know what they mean about banging on for 55 years.) May the better team win, and may we football-sceptics then get a bit of peace. (Some hope!)
True words indeed Dougie, but alas they went off the boil and allowed them in and they dominated the second half allowing them to equalise, The penalty situation, well we've been here before, but all you can ask is they do there best. Sadly they did and it wasn't enough.
Yep, not enough in the final reckoning, but ltaly looked good from the off, and it's quite a tale of redemption for them too. Hand on heart, putting on my neutral hat for a moment, l think the correct team won the tournament.
Yep a great start for England, but got to give the Italian’s credit for getting back into the game. Usual story with penalties and England. We just have to move on to the next game.
Well it’s a shame they didn’t quite get over the line ( pun not intended) but they are to be congratulated for getting to the final with only one goal given away. Just need to practice the penalty kick I guess. Very sad to read the racist online posts targeted against the unfortunate players who missed their penalties, I hope the police find them and they are punished accordingly.
Yeah the Italians were playing dirty, shirt pulling along with other antics seems almost acceptable in today's game, such a shame
