Saw a bit on TV news, reporter in Rome saying Italians think they MUST win, can't have Brexit Brits nicking the EUROPEAN trophy seeing we left the EU.
Fair point, I'm OK with that......
as long as they stay out of our fishing grounds.
(Is that the sort of thing you had in mind @Dave49) :joy:

Guess they are a bit thick and cant work out the difference between being in the EU or being in Europe.

I won't be a bit peturbed if England lose tonight as long as they make the effort. There's no shame in losing. I've got a pile of bricks ready in the back garden. First stop is Mama Mia's Pizza place, their pizza's are shite anyway. Next stop will be La Scala and Sul Lago, the food is great but needs must.:)

You’ll not be alone with your bricks Andy, win or lose there will be riots and cars burned out in London. It’s started already with flares and knobheads climbing on cars. But we shouldn’t be surprised, they’re football “fans”, if they had another brain cell it wouldn’t be lonely anymore. Complete fuckwits and an embarrassment.

That's exactly the sort of thing I mean, Col. And the English tabloids will be printing the mirror image of the same crap. I despair.

Got to love the Scottish :D
There mornings paper apparently had the Italian manager Roberto dressed up as full battle dress Braveheart with the headline.
Save us please Roberto, your our only hope to stop this, or if not we'll have them bleating on about this for another 55yrs. (sure don't know what they mean):cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::D:D
Well Scotland you gotta be in it to win it, a final that is :p.

Yes, as @Tiglet pointed out earlier. An Italian Braveheart? Surely the very definition of oxymoron :grinning:

I think it's pretty obvious that the front page of The National is not meant seriously, but is very tongue in cheek. (Although the way the English tabloids like to resurrect the 1966 World Cup is a bit wearying, so I know what they mean about banging on for 55 years.) May the better team win, and may we football-sceptics then get a bit of peace. (Some hope!) :)

Great 1st half, If they play the same in the 2nd half they will deserve the win :)

True words indeed Dougie, but alas they went off the boil and allowed them in and they dominated the second half allowing them to equalise,
The penalty situation, well we've been here before, but all you can ask is they do there best.
Sadly they did and it wasn't enough.

Yep, not enough in the final reckoning, but ltaly looked good from the off, and it's quite a tale of redemption for them too. Hand on heart, putting on my neutral hat for a moment, l think the correct team won the tournament. :)

Yep a great start for England, but got to give the Italian’s credit for getting back into the game. Usual story with penalties and England. We just have to move on to the next game.

Well it’s a shame they didn’t quite get over the line ( pun not intended) but they are to be congratulated for getting to the final with only one goal given away. Just need to practice the penalty kick I guess.
Very sad to read the racist online posts targeted against the unfortunate players who missed their penalties, I hope the police find them and they are punished accordingly.

Yeah the Italians were playing dirty, shirt pulling along with other antics seems almost acceptable in today's game, such a shame
