I sort of had a great time. Left my door on Friday morning and head to Avimore a couple of hours away, it was lashing rain by the time I got there, but after having something to eat the weather constantly improved. Fort William next, then along, ' The Road To The Isles' a fantastic road, and the reason I choose this route, 80 miles of bends and views. Mallaig ferry at 6pm for a 20 minute journey to Skye, then a high straight, beautiful ( of course its beautiful, everything on Skye is) road to meet up with Andy Wessa and Alan for dinner.

    In the morning,

    IMG_20210626_061747686.jpg

a previous short that was blowing my 10 amp indicator brake light circuit re-appeared after me thinking it was vanquished and 20 minutes later, blew again on the way to Plockton, beautiful ( in its own right). I could have risked riding in the middle of the group but felt that the safe thing was to get home while I still had spare fuses.Didnt blow again all day. Headed home after saying good bye and cutting my visit short. I may have fixed the problem but I thought that before. No amount of wiggling or overloading or testing can reproduce the fault at this stage. Enjoyed my days out and meeting old friends and new. Thanks guys, lets do it again soon. Shame I didnt meet Doug, to be fair I saw him a few weeks ago too.

We had a coffee and cake stop at the pleasant little village of Shieldaig after our exertions across the Bealach and a fair chunk of single track road. With my unerring eye for a shot l took this pretty undistinguished pic. Five minutes later Charley Boorman rode by with a bike mounted cameraman filming his every move.....

Yes the enfield group included a number of interceptors and himalayan. It was an organised tour from Edingburgh around the highlands to promote the bikes. The lead was a Royal Enfield employee and advocate of the brand.
There was also a group from BikerBnB who Enfield are also a sponsor of. This group included Charlie Boorman who is also a sponsor of the company. The web site promotes biker friendly properties and arranges bike tours across the UK and Europe. I had a quick look at the site which is www.bikerbnb.com. It's worth a look if you are new to touring and don't have the confidence to plan your own tour.

The guy's have shared a few of their pictures covering day four which was our trip from Skye to Beauly, so here are my offering. As has been said we left Skye with James (@Sprinter) heading for Plockton and then onto Beauly. Here are a mix of pictures on the road and at various stop points.

That curry was the first in my life that I couldn't finish. I had a rest about two thirds the way through, then left a pile of rice, most of a chapati and three enormous pieces of chicken covered in Jalfrezi sauce. After about ten minutes I very slowly ate the chicken. Was I stuffed.

Edit: I think it was the Bombay Spuds that did it.:yum:D

Our final destination was Jedburgh where we met up with another old friend Graham @dilligaf who turned up on his three wheeled Spyder, quite a mean looking machine. The odd thing about Jedburgh is that everywhere was shut. There was only one pub/restaurant open and that closed at 8:00pm !!!
Anyway we managed to get a meal and a few pints in before it shut.
Any pics Steve & Alan ?

How was Graham (@dilligaf), before he left the forum he was waiting for surgery or some other treatment for his shoulder issues, is he any further forwards with that, did Jack Daniels feature in the meet up and any pics of his 3 wheeler?

Same here, until this trip. Apart from the fantastic experience of actually doing the ride, I got a couple of bonus balls in the shape of finally meeting @Dilligaf and @Sprinter, and taking that ride out with @Dougie D who I have met before. :)

Ok so day five seen us leave Beauly for Breamar. We stopped at Fort Augustus for a break and watch some cruisers got into the large lock. From here we moved onto Spean Bridge where we met @Dougie D . Dougie then led us through some fantastic roads via Aviemore and across to Breamar.

Day six we set off from Breamar heading for Jedburgh. The initial part of the ride was on good roads until we got down towards the M9. We stopped for fuel and @Dougie D joined us from his shop just down the road from the petrol station. We had another stop in Dunkeld for a rest and a look around the cathederal. Unfortunately it was closed, still it was an interesting stop over. Back on the road and the trip around Edinburgh which was a pain until we got onto the A7. This provided some more excellent riding down to Selkirk, before heading for our final destination of Jedburgh....
