Great pictures Dougie and what looked like a great day for maggies centre and all the people that took part, well done you lot
Sorted myself out with a nice little circular route around the B roads of Lincolnshire in the sunshine today and had a great ride. So pleasant with dry roads and the warmth on your back. Really loving the Thruxton which is perfect for these type of jaunts. Was also treated to a practise display from the Red Arrows as I headed out from home and discovered a cracking tea shop just outside Market Rasen.
A quick blast round the back lanes, just a few miles, but constant bends to roll around. Then, why not - a quick blast to the Cat and Fiddle via Macclesfield. Parked up briefly, and admired a '12 plate Thruxton in red, whilst a couple of chaps checked my bike out (always a nice feeling!). Roll back down the hill onto the Cheshire plain. The Dart fly screen and TEC spings and shocks make the bike faster and it just loves the bends. Jacket off, BBQ on!
Brilliant run today on some of the best roads in Scotland with Lou and wee Doug Met Lou in Crieff at 9am, the sun was starting to warm up nicely we headed up to Lochearnhead then on to Tyndrum to refuel and have a coffee at the "Green Welly" Had a great run on to Oban where we stopped for lunch "McCaigs Folly" Overlooking Oban (unfinished replica of the Colosseum in Rome) Myself,Lou & Wee Doug..we were all feeling the heat! After Lunch we headed down to Lochgilphead then on to Inveraray and stopped for another coffee Looked everywhere for Para Handy but could only find his boat Past some fantastic scenery, but was enjoying the run too much to stop and take more photos! leaving Inveraray we went over "The Rest And Be Thankful" a lovely road that leads you to Arrocher about 3/4 way up Loch Lomond . Lou headed home down Loch Lomond and we we headed up towards Crianlarich then down the side off Loch Tay and home, 275 miles of biking bliss full of corners..Lou ended up doing 340 miles as he stays further from Crieff than we do..i think we will all sleep well tonight!
I must try Scotland, only ever been to scotland im my truck driving days but never on a bike, looks great.
Strange that, Wayne. I want to try Ireland, 'cos I've only been there in my truck driving days, and never on a bike! Had a week staying in Ballynahinch with SWMBO, but that was done using the car. Nice though. But didn't quite make it into the Republic. Can recommend Scotland though, even if you never get north of the M8 corridor. Dumfries and Galloway is excellent away from the A75 and, to a lesser extent, the A76. Both can and do, suffer from truck infestations. I know .... I was that trucker!!
Looks like you boys had a great day out and once again cracked it with the weather. Nice photos as usual Dougie
yeah Dave I'm lucky that i can take off during the week when the roads are a lot quieter than at the weekends.and with the the sun being out it really was the perfect day for us on the bike
