Ask me how I can corroborate that!

I think there was an element of personal experience on my part, Ken.

I can validate that @Dave49 is definitely as daft as a brush. Just like the rest of us.

I can't disagree. But as a matter of interest, why are brushes said to be daft? All the brushes I know are pretty inanimate. And what, indeed, is a brush? My wife calls a broom a brush - I think she got that from her Lancashire mother. So many questions... Why is life so complicated?

I was going to click 'Useful', Ade, but I realised that it wasn't: it ends with the same question - 'why would a brush be thought of as daft?' Or is it just a daft question? In which case it should just be brushed aside...

Oh god, I feel a dozen pages along similar lines to the electrician joke coming on. Don’t think I can handle it.

I'm already bristling at the thought. And has Ade been looking in my wife's garage?

Funny, I thought the MIL and her friends had turned up when I saw that pic.
    Now that’s a sweeping statement.

How do you know the toothbrush was invented by red necks

Anyone else would have called it a teethbrush.

I know - these people who copy and paste definitions off the internet can be so annoying. ;)

I don’t think we will be whisked or swept into a craze brush related quips. There are far few to be had compared the electrician example. It was enlightening to see how that sparked such an enthusiastic response.

Still there are bound to be a few remaining unused broom words to be mopped up before the end of the day…
