Hi folks! Peter from Sweden here. New to this forum, not entirely new to Triumphs though. Had a gorgeous black 1996 Speed Triple many years ago and after that a yellow T595. Loved those bikes, but then switched to Ducati that definately make sweet rides. My last one was a 996 R which was really something! After that - and a close encounter with a deer (which scared the hell out of my wife) - I turned to gliders and got myself a Harley Fat Boy (which I still ride). Here it is: But after a couple of years of gliding I started to get more and more of the clip-ons-itch and started to look around for something not too fast, but a little more sporty and agile than the Fat Boy. And last week ended up with a very, very nice 2004 Thruxton. It's got two previous owners and some 32K on the odo. Very close to mint cond'. And I must say I never felt so much at home in the saddle on ANY previous bike. After only a couple of minutes drive I felt like I was born on this bike. Big smile on my face. Very happy and nice to be here. Will be back with a zillion questions soon... More or less stock 'cept for the TOR exhaust and itty bitty small turn signals... //Peter
Hi Peter, Corrr but that looks lovely !!!!! She is a minter isn't she? Welcome to the Triumph Asylum - you may wonder why I refer to the forum like that? You'll soon see
Welcome to the forum Peter Two good looking bikes for sure, the fat boy is probably the best looking Harley they do and the thruxton one of the best Triumphs in my opinion.
Welcome in Ajax...... Lovely bike couldn't be better, nice colour,.............. could have been better!!
Hi Peter as a fellow new boy welcome. Your Thruxton looks gorgeous and takes me back to the 60s.I could never ever afford one but my favourite bike honestly back then was a Thruxton Bonneville. It not only looked the business but sounded it too. I am sure others will tell me if I am wrong but I venture to guess that they are now rarer than BSA Gold Stars. Enjoy.
The bluer the better - allegedly. Certainly has to be bluer than a blue thing to be any blooming good!! But welcome in anyway!
