Todays weather was looking promising so had an early start and headed for the west coast for a solo run to check out the beaches. Weatherman was true to his word, and it has been beautiful all day. Took the A40 from home and leaving the mountains behind within half an hour the first beach was in sight. Spent the day just sight seeing around the coast and then a quick blast to get back home. Just under 200 miles and hardly a cloud to be seen. The Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire coasts have some lovely beaches and stunning scenery. And some good old tanks too. Some pictures attached.
Isn't it great to see a bit of good weather and get out on the bike! So good for the soul great pictures by the way!
Beautiful ride and bikes! I really want to visit Wales, some of my favorite movies have been filmed there. I am also fascinated by its history. One of my favorite actors is a son of Wales, Sir Anthony Hopkins. Wales has made the world a better place in many ways.
Dawsy, you must have picked an exceptional time to achieve sunstroke status. It's more usual to suffer from rust than suntan in Wales Although it is good at the moment.
And he is now an Oscar winner again. You will have to get over here if you get the chance. We do have a fascinating history, and you can still see so much of it in our castles and countryside. I intend to visit as many castles on the bike as possible in near future, so will keep you updated.
@andyc1They were a great band, and an influence to a great many other heavy/progressive bands around the world. I also liked another Welsh band "Badfinger" thought Pete Ham was very underestimated. Badly treated by the music industry and very sad demise. I see you are from NI , what about Rory Gallagher, another great musician. I lived in same village as Rod De'ath and remember him going to join Rory as drummer.
More than welcome to visit anytime. Can't help with a loaner tho. Have a mate with bike shop who can sort you out.
Sounds like you had a terrific ride, Camperman! Terrific photos. Gorgeous beaches. Looks like it was a great day of moto-therapy.
Rory Gallagher - bloody brilliant guitarist one of the best. Saw him live 4 times back in the late 70's.
