First group ride this year, only four of us. An older Daytona, a Thruxton R, my Street Cup, and an older but clean Kaw Ninja. Glad to see the sun didn’t get washed away.

Took the scenic route to the test station this morning, bike passed, just taxed it, starting from tomorrow morning. Curiously, no problem getting the VED on line, and yet if I run "check if a vehicle is taxed" DVSA reports my bike as on SORN and MOT expired May 2018. Clearly yet to update, but equally they certainly have my up to date records. Got my email and took a screen grab of payment etc so if any traffic Nazis start jumping up and down I can calm their nerves :p:)

Great to get Sceptic Lil out for the first time this year. Took her to stretch her RPM around Bodmin Moor. Not a great sunny day but who cares. I was giggling to myself inside my helmet. Retirement is great fun!

How's your back tyre doing for wear? i checked mine and there is only 1.5mm to the wear bar, I've no idea how deep the tread was when new but I've only done 900 miles, i was hoping to get about 4k out of the rear but that looks optimistic.. unless the last 1.5mm wears really slowly!

Folk on the Rocket forum seem to be getting great mileage from the tyres,i wasnt expecting to be getting much more than 4k but some folk are saying they're getting more than double that!

Should be getting a lot more than what you are out of them. Especially as 500 miles was “running in!” I would expect 4-6k.

It makes me think it was used tyres on mine when I bought it! I'll maybe phone the dealer and see what they say

Dipping it next to the tread wear indicator I have 5mm with 2000 miles on the clock

So there must have been about 6-7 mm when new. Must have been used tyres on mine then,I'd have to be riding the thing like Marquez to get down to 1.5mm after only 900 miles!

Well I’ve been gradually making a sat nav mount for my new Garmin Zumo XT along the lines of a Navihalter. Also making one for my son’s CB500X. Can’t do much else as I had an operation on my elbow last Friday and not allowed to ride/drive for 2 weeks. So I can look at my bike but can’t even get it off the centre stand.

Here are some pics Bikerman. Made from 2mm aluminium plate and painted with Hammerite satin although needs redoing as I couldn't find the etch primer. Stainless socket M6 bolts and locking nuts. Sat Nav Mount.jpg SN 1.jpg SN 3.jpg SN2.jpg
