There seems to be a whole new set of terms we now use on a regular basis following the appearance of Covid19.: Social distancing Pandemic Furlough Lockdown and of course Covid itself. Its not a competition, but feel free to add any words or phrases that you either didn't use at all or hardly ever did before Covid became a daily part of everone's lives.
I wonder how the dating scene works now and speculate it’s like this: 1) Use an app to identify the partner of choice/gender/assumed-gender or species. 2) Use a social media platform of choice to woo them whilst using a filter to make you look a little less ugly. 3) Have a romantic dinner - albeit a Deliveroo from the local Chinese/Indian/Michelin Three Star Restaurant/Fried Chicken Hut/Kebab Van. It doesn’t matter as you are in different rooms, towns, countries. 4) Snuggle up (virtually) on your sofas and share watch a Netflix/Prime etc movie. 5) live stream to each other a bit of solo ‘action’ whilst encouraging their partner on the quality of their moans and passionate cries. 6) Feel throughly humiliated and swear never to do it again. Until tomorrow.
I Must wash my hands every feckin two minutes, and don't rub me eyes or touch my face, HAVE YOU SANITISED, became like the phrase " HAVE YOU BEEN WALTER" A catchphrase many of you lot should remember
• Zoom -- Zoom meetings, Zoom happy hour • face mask • hybrid learning model; remote learning • six feet • stay-at-home order • hoax -- one that's relatively common in the U.S. but NOT one I use, mind you • take-out -- not a new term but one that Mr. Sandi and I use WAY more frequently now than we ever have! And here's a new one that I just ran across a couple of days ago.
Sandi it’s a line taken from an old Yorkshire based sitcom called Nearest and Dearest from the late 60’s, early 70’s, a little bit of toilet humour that’s probably not worth searching YT for.
The biggest thing for me was waiting for a vaccine due to my young age (57) It felt like the old days with us trying to get in pubs for an underage drink, “ Not serving you , you’re too young ” ..In Covid times we would keep trying the NHS app to see if I can get a jab..”Not jabbing you, you’re too young “
Lock down Level 3 alert No motorcycling (unnecessary travel farkof) Be kind Bat flu W$&king from home (I know that’s not so new)
@Yorkshireman is indeed corect Sandy and looking back at what we thought was funny then to be honest it wasnt really, again yorkshireman is correct yet again not worth searching for
Covidiot Curbside Elbow bumping And these are related to our 3 kids: "Where's your mask?" "I forgot a mask." "Do you have an extra mask?" "Whose mask is this?" "I'm not wearing that mask; he touched it." "Put on a mask."
And I should have mentioned those mask phrases are generally uttered in rapid succession with rising tones.
