The TEC progressive fork springs arrived today. These forks are pretty basic so fitting is 20mins work. Didn't get chance to try them out today so looks like some more "essential shopping" is on the cards tomorrow.;)

Having had the valves checked and adjusted the bike wasn't running as it should so I brought it back to the shop to have them make it right. Got it back today, and took it for a test run. She was running great, until after some 8 miles the main fuse blew. AA couldn't fix it roadside, so it was taken back to the shop on a lorry...

I'm fine mate, thanks. But it took 3 hours waiting in the cold before I was taken home. Now on the sofa with a dram....

Fingers crossed all is good sir.
Has it ever blown before as it's quite a large amp fuse I think!?

30 amp fuse, mate. And no, it had never blown before. I suspect a short somewhere under the fueltank/airbox.

I think it probably is, Dougie. I'll probably know more tomorrow. The chap from the shop actually came back from home to receive the bike...

Fitted the same to my Street Cup yesterday. Together with gas shocks fitted a week ago, can't wait for a test drive ... sorry, essential journey I mean!!

Just had word from the mechanic - apparently the recently fitted new reg/rec was at fault. It was overcharging. The old one will be refitted today, which will likely solve the problem.

Got her back just now - she behaves just like the dragon I know and love.
Even more fierce with the outlet valves correctly adjusted. Fingers crossed it'll stay that way. More test runs this weekend!

Also fitted TEC progressive springs to mine last week to go with the Fox shocks at the back (chose not to go with the adjustable caps because I like the stock look). Then found an excuse to go shopping in the sunshine.

What a difference for such a cheap simple upgrade: Now the bike rides like I remember bikes did from thirty years ago, the ride is much more compliant and less harsh, steering is more precise and responsive and I get better feedback from those dubious Pirelli tyres (they still white line). I had such a grin on my face when I got home.

I concur completely. Had to go in to work on Friday. Got "lost" on the way and 2 mile journey lasted 25 miles!! Much better feeling all round. Very please. I also prefer the look of the fork top nuts to adjusters, especially as I have clip ons that show the top yolk in all its glory! 100% on the way the tires handle (not) banding etc.
