Looks a tidy job. I seem to remember when I were nowt but a lad the 'bike bobbies' used to ride Triumphs with a very similar style fairing.
We all learn, sometimes the hard way. Nuff said!!!! Looks like you did a tidy job though and the good thing is you're up and about so not all bad. Hope you recover quickly and back in the saddle even quicker.
fairings have certainly come a long way since... each to there own but i think that old fashioned fairing looks terrible
So, being a Monday, my first train was cancelled this morning so had to get the tiger out of bed and take her into london. Quite a nice ride at 5:45 in the morning not looking forward to the ride home in the rush hour£1 to park is it really worth charging? So my first commute!!
There was an oldish bloke where I worked who back in the late 70's used a real wreck of an LE as his commuter bike. He bought it off the local bobbies when they scrapped them. He rode the bike well into the late 80's/early 90's, never had it serviced, always passed the MOT, (well he said it did). It eventually ended up being used on the beach to collect trash.
Here's a couple of faired Speed Twins seen at Goole Bike show the other week, plus another Velocette LE

Ha Ha Nice one Dougie, Cleaning the windows there must have been the same challenge as painting the Forth bridge was at one time !!! Beautiful setting though and a great picture !!
Nice photos Dougie..... as someone who sells double glazing i'm drooling at the commission i'd make with that lot
Set off sharp this morning for my 500 mile service, computer says 4 miles til empty then promptly ran out of petrol Typical !!!..... all those years riding bikes without computers and I get this Street Twin with it's fancy 'countdown to empty' display and I run out..... Tw*t !!! No drama's with the service but they still haven't fitted my heated grips (still not in yet).. Total cost £59.52 for oil & filter, no labour charge.
Close but no cigar..it's Glamis Castle, childhood home of the Queen mother, Princess Margaret was born there
