    Hi Everyone,

Just bought a new 1200 Speed Twin here in Melbourne, Australia.

    Modes so far
    • I put the Ducati washers on the throttle to stop the slack which has helped immensely.
    • Have ordered the BoosterPlug to help with the on/off attitude of the bike.
    • Used some glove spray to make the seat a little stickier so I don't keep sliding forwards.
Has anybody fitted any handlebar risers to bring them up and back an inch or so? If so where did you get them?

    Cheers

    Paul

P.S - Please tell me what mods you guys have implemented

    Gidday from New Jersey.

Due to idiocy issues with my state's MV facilities (COVID panic closings) that postponed the registering of my new Speedmaster for six weeks, then having the weather turn to crap, I don't have enough miles on the bike to know if I need different risers.

However, if I do, an outfit called Motone has up and over risers. Their USA site says they will be stocked soon, but their UK site appears to have them in stock. A bit pricey. Just do a web search for Motone UK. Fair dinkum mate.

Thanks Fork lock - I have just sent them a query to see if they have any in stock. That site is great I could end spending too much money there :)

Enjoy your Speedmaster when weather gets better.

    Cheers

Hi n welcome :) do a online search as you can buy a riser that fits between your risers and bars for little cost, replacing the rear shocks with a pair of quality items.

Enjoy the only model from the Bonneville range that Triumph didn’t need to update for 2021

Hi Darkman, I am actually finding it is the front forks that are a bit spongy. They dive too quickly and don't handle the bumps so well. The rear shocks at least have a preload setting that I can adjust but no settings on the front. I had read about other springs and different oil settings.
    Cheers

Hi Paul, initially like you i found the front lacking but only if i held the front brake hard deep into a bend was it a problem as lack of fork rebound was causing the front to tuck, my main issue was a chattering on fast sweeping bends so i started at the rear with new shocks and set the sag for my weight and also its 5mm lower, with the front all i did was drop the legs through the yokes 10mm and fit 1" shorter bar risers. I was going to do the springs but as the sag was now ok ish i have not bothered yet :).

Hi Paul. I’m using Rox Risers, bought off Amazon. It gives up to 2” up and back but requires a new/longer clutch cable. I got one from Baak. I sit more comfortably, hand pain is gone, and it performs better with less weight up front. Good luck.
