    Hi all,

I am going to upgrade the springs in my front sus and would like to find how difficult this is to do myself? Any tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated! Going for TEC preogressive springs...anyone had any expreience with these? I really like their other stuff so hoping they'll be good!

    Thanks!

Hi Matt, I am a bit of a fan for TEC products. Here is a Delboys garage video showing how easy it is to change springs:

Easy job, just watch the video a couple of times then crack on with it, did mine, including shortening the forks, in around an hour or so... Good luck !!...

Springs have been changed today and I can't believe the difference in the feel of the bike!!! Being a bit of a tech moron I wasn't sure how much change I'd notice, but having ridden to work the scenic route...it was amazing! Much more responsive and much easier to ride!!! So glad I've changed them and would totally recommend any other Scrambler's out there to do the same!

    WIN!

Did mine on the Thruxton with Hagons and as you say the difference is really noticeable.

Less than £90 with the oil best value upgrade you can do.

I'm a tech moron too - how much difference can it make? What? How? I want to keep my bike original, but am willing to improve it if they are real improvements rather than "differences". The 4-pot front brake / floating disk combo seems a good idea, but I've been able to stop 'til now (Fingers crossed as I write that!)

Hi, I've just spoken with George at TEC, and have ordered progressive springs for the forks and a pair of shocks for the rear. I was thinking of asking my dealer to fit these, but am assured it is a piece of cake... so I will buy a torque wrench and some Loc Tite and join the ranks of "Bike Tecs"...

To me they have made the bike a hundred times nicer to ride. I am relatively new to biking (got my licence 2 years ago) so wasn't sure I'd notice too much difference but the bike feels much more nimble and much nicer to ride. It turns in sharper and feels more secure!

    I cant recommend it enough!

Think I'll get some ordered. Did you keep the metal pipe you remove from the suspension the same length?

Yes because I wasn't sure how or why to change it! I am happy with the feel now so don't think I will alter the length!

Sounds good just got to work on a way to get the weight off the front forks as I have no centre stand but I'm always up for a challenge :-D
