I have watched a couple of youtube clips about servicing the rear shock, they said I would need to lift the bike so that the swing arm hangs free, I have got bobbins on the bike already but a paddock stand would still load the weight of the bike through the shock

Ah but you are not servicing the rear shock, from what you said originally it was the greasing of the linkage, I can assure you you can perform that task with the bike on a rear paddock stand, or indeed the side stand. I did one very recently, the bearings were fine, I just cleaned them, re packed them with grease and fitted new seals, re assembled everything and it took me 1 hour start to finish. On the ones I have done they had a common thread, all had a lack of adequate grease, wether that took place over time or at the factory I do not know. I'm not really sure why some people appear to over complicate matters. However if you feel you would rather suspend the rear swing arm then I respect your decision, you can only do what you feel is right for you. The same goes if fitting a lowering kit, you can perform the task side stand or paddock stand.

You clearly know more about this than me. One of the other forum members has just offered to lend me his Abba stand which will be perfect as I don't have a paddock stand yet and as I have just bought the bike I'm trying to keep the spending down as much as I can. I need to get some garage work done first but when I come to sort the rear shock I'll get back to you about the plastic washer. Cheers

Hi Robert no problem, that's great news that a fellow member will loan you an Abba Stand, we are on the forum to help as much as possible. The seals are Genuine Triumph in unopened individual packets, they are a little more than plastic though, I will upload a picture of one when I am in my garage next. I have just sold this 2014 Street Triple 675r to a Triumph dealer. I am cutting right back on my bikes.

Hi Robert, in all honesty I am never sad when I let any of my bikes go, I always look forward to getting the next one, I have been really fortunate over the years and have owned more than 80 Motorcycles of all makes and models. Ride safe all.

Its hard to say as they are all different, possibly my BSA DBD34 Clubman, not much traffic back then so it was fun and i was in my youth with like minded people. I restored a 1956 T100 not long back and ran that regularly on spirited rides. I swapped that for a new Street Triple 765rs in 2019 and then chopped that in for another new one in September 2020. I just love anything with an engine.

Hi @Iceman could I take you up on your offer for the 4 rear suspension seals. How would you need payment?
