First off, I appreciate the input and the friendship that these forums offer. Yep, older guy here from Massachusetts, US. Commercial photographer, filmmaker and drone pilot, for a long time.

Looking at the Bonneville T100 to buy. I would not be truthful if I said I wasn't a little nervous about hopping on a bike after not being on one for 50 years. Last bike was an early seventies Triumph Trident 750. Rode that fine except for the day I was popping 2nd gear wheelies and came down hard and slid for a bit. Well, I'm not in my late teens anymore and have no intention of ever doing that again. Just want a solid smooth ride. I sat on a Bonneville yesterday at the dealership and said to myself....This seems heavy and a bit unnatural to me, but I'm game to try it out. Heck I may be in my late sixties but I still surf and listen to my favorite musical artist Jimi Hendrix, whom I saw live, in 1967.

Ok, that's my history. Hopefully you may have endured reading it...hahahahaha. I appreciate all and any tips you may offer. Take care.
    Steve

    Welcome Steve (from another Steve)
I'm the new owner of a 2020 T120, retired (from work!) and always had bikes. My last couple were monsters - tall and heavy. I was a little anxious when I decided to "downsize" and go for a physically smaller bike. After looking at other manufacturers and a test ride I instantly went for the T120! This was a very big change for me. I always liked the look & style of the Bonnie - and, thankfully, they have improved in many aspects but retain that Classic look. IMO these latest models have finally "caught up with the competition". Some say the 80hp isn't enough, but if I downshift a couple cogs, I can still give the Harleys a run for their money - plus it handles better and goes around corners! Highways, backroad twisties and even modest dirt roads are not an issue.
    GO FOR IT !!!

Welcome to the family. You never forget when bikes are in the blood it just needs fettling and lighting the fire again. The t100 is a great steed and not slow if you want it that way. Lot lighter and handles better. Just make sure you got some good tyres and away you go slow to start. Do keep us all in the picture as you get used to biking again.
    Joe.
