This bike was from a young lad who fall of after just a week after he brought it. He smashed the fuel tank, damaged plastic all around and broke some minor parts. He ask me if I could fix it cheap as he didn’t have much cash at the moment, I felt sorry for him and how his bikers experience had begun so I accepted asking him if it was ok if I built a cafe racer with his bike, After looking at Google what this was he gave me a ok to do what I had in my mind!
next step was taking away not needed parts. I made some new instrument support and begun playing with the new fuel tank design
Yes Sr In the following pics you see the positive mould (plugg) taking shape , finally I gave it a smooth surface and painted it orange. And ready it was to make the negative final mould
I have a bike at home from a Scottish friend who left it at here when he went with the oil rig to Norway some months ago, As I haven’t started it for some month so my afternoon plan is taking a ride up to the mountains
Hard to not feel sorry for the lad damaging such a a ride, looking forward to seeing your design and build
Upper side vas ready and now it was time making the lower part of the tank with fuel pump supports Ets ..
Ok, then, you are an old fingerprintless wizard! Perhaps you are also a magician, Vik! Seriously, your work is truly amazing. I hope that kid doesn't fall off his bike again after all your work! Both for his sake...and the bike's, too!
I completely agree. Looking at the photos of the damage to the original tank, I wonder if the riders crown jewels were equally mangled? Remarkable rebuild, great skills, a pleasure to watch the progress!
One strange thing is that the young driver didn't event suffer scratches and that he wasn’t wearing proper biker clothes!
So wait, this is day by day real time engineering. I thought this was a project you may have done some time ago and just putting pictures up a few each day!!! Last time I took my car to the garage due to stalling, they had it two weeks and still not fixed...in the same time you can take apart - re-deisign - manufacture - paint and assemble a whole bike in that time!!!
