Cheers Chaps Next question. Why is the forum slower to react this evening than Joe Biden at a vote recount? Last night & this morning it was fine. Tonight it's like a Harley 883 with two flat tyres. I'm fairly sure the problem isn't at my end. Is anyone else having the same trouble? I'm trying to catch up on all the bullshit & whining about Trump
All Trump media is undergoing level 4 data sweeps with background check on the posters... ready to be lined up against the wall when the revolution comes... it all takes bandwidth!
You make a convincing point about the Triumphs. You have to subscribe to have those little yellow faced things, I believe. There are some orange ones too, which may be more to your liking. Handing over a few quid will get rid of the ads, too.
Just watched the itv program “storming the capitol”... there is so much hate and blind ideological anger... I fear for the good people of America on both sides of this... I’d hate to see a nation rip itself apart.
Definitely an eye opening program but could the goings on not come under the banner of 'Mostly peaceful'? That's a joke as it was far from peaceful. But it looked exactly like the BLM protests I've seen described in that way. I'm taking the program with a pinch of biased MSM salt.
I take most news with a pinch of salt, but there is no doubting the anger from the people he was speaking to. I also think that if you’d been one of the front line police in the doorway, you’d have reason to be concerned that it was more than peaceful... so yes, I drew comparisons with the BLM riots too... “the angry mob” is an ugly thing, but why??? Why is America so bitterly divided... this is more than the effects of one Orange shit-stirring despot... from what I can see, he has just used the hatred that’s already been there and said “You’re right to feel like this!” But What is it that has been building/growing which is so divisive?
Well, things like choosing which interviews and interactions you show to demonstrate the most shocking side to the event. Yes there were the ragged angry mob types ranting at the journalist, but there was hundreds of more peaceful looking types wandering about taking selfies and YouTube videos who seemed to be on for the ride. If the journalist had interviewed those, the program would have had less impact (probably not much) but that’s the MSM bias... shock and horror sells/wins awards.
Interviewing those would have given a new enlightenment ? I'm not sure. But yes a word about those wouldn't harm anyway. The remarkable element of this riot is more the crazy extremism. Qanon leaders, lots of neonazi references (the old man with "Auswitz" black hoody), etc. It's not a question of selling there, it will sell, be viewed anyway. It's a question to show how far this goes.
It's just to diminish the "right wing riot" importance by comparing with a "left wing riot" (well kind of) .. It's like the guy busted by the police at 150 mph raging because some others are driving 160mph and have not been busted.. Just irrelevant
If you add an emoji that's one offered on the phone or tablet, it won't work. It has to be one available on the forum page itself. I've done that several times when posting from my iPhone then remember that the phone emojis don't show up in the post even though they look like they're on there.
I made it quite clear ,I have no interest in American politics or dear Donald. Nothing to do with the obsession over here with Trump, that’s your business
I don't recall BLM rioters breaking into the U.S. Capitol to interfere with the election certification process. Or chanting about hanging the Vice President. Or bashing a police officer in the head with a fire extinguisher while he was being crushed in a door. Any and all news sources should be taken with a pinch of salt, 57! It's on individuals to be a discerning consumer of news by not relying on only one or two sources, by seeking facts, by using critical thinking skills, and (in the context of this thread) having a basic foundation of knowledge about the law, government, and the Constitution against which to assess and interpret related news stories. There seems to be a lot of "laziness" among consumers of information and news these days, hence an over reliance on tweets and facebook and opinions and sound bites and slogans.
If I remember rightly wasn’t the Nuremberg rally mostly peaceful too, before the crowd drifted away and started WWII ...
Drawing that analogy seems to suggest that I (who has made the simple comparison of “angry mob” between BLM and capitol riot) as being the one who was driving at 150mph... I wasn’t, and I don’t consider myself right or left wing... I consider myself stood on the pavement, fairly aghast as two lunatics have come past too quickly for the road and pointed out that these similar behaviours are anti-social, dangerous and I don’t fully understand the reasoning for their level of behaviour (not that I don’t understand that they have issues to be addressed).
Anything to oblige the illiberal liberals and their smug self righteous judging. He who casts the first stone etc.
Why spelling, punctuation and proofreading matter. From the BBC too. Rioters are being urged to turn themselves into police
