The people who continue to devalue the MSM are the current sheep in America. Why would you believe something with no proof if you’re not a sheep? Continue on into your stall...
I'm getting a bit tired the assumption that I can't interpret what's in the newspaper or on television news, or judge for myself whether a commentator is biased or exaggerating. This continuous attempt to disenfranchise rational people because they read/watch news that others disagree with is getting old. By all means challenge but do it on the basis of some verifiable alternative. Here's some news for you - we know media outlets have their biases and we know they are in competition to gain market share, particularly ones who draw revenue from advertisers or who are owned by dubious billionnaires. Just because I get information from a mainstream source doesn't mean I blindly believe it like some sort of deluded cultist. And what exactly are the alternative sources? Facebook echo chambers? QAnon conspiracy fora? Please...
Shades of Bertrand Russell's teapot it seems to me. Trump's position appears to be an article of faith, not fact, MSM or any other.
I have to say, the fact that these protesters where allowed to "walk in" with very little resistance is a fantastically democratic thing. I would hate to think of government buildings being heavy militarized. Of course you don't want aholes wrecking the place, or devaluing the inherent maxim of the building.
As soon as I see the word Sheeple I always imagine the speaker is a conspiracy theorist with a cullinder on their head And no what happened yesterday was not a coup see link attached although that will probably be considered main stream media (even though I’ve never heard of them!) https://theconversation.com/was-it-...ection-violence-of-a-fragile-democracy-152803
It's never been necessary to read about Trump and form an opinion based on 'biased media', you only have to watch his video clips or read his tweets. Media didn't form my opnion of Trump. He did that all by himself. Same with many other politicians abroad and at home. Anyway, I'm putting the kettle on.
Why do you assume that everybody on the forum reads and believes the MSM. Not sure if you have read or watched the news feeds. Not really sure the number involved is important, what is is that four peole died and many others were injured in an attack on democracy.
@MartyWilson Don’t know you, probably never will. I understand when I jump into the political sewer I might come out with a stink to me. No offense taken. I’m sure you’re take on Americans is shared by many but earned by a few. Cheers
Seriously mate, I'm interested where you get your information if not MSM? The news feeds are presented to attract the people who are in tune with their narrative, or to at least sell the story. The number is important to help us understand how serious the level of armament these protesters had if it was indeed an attempted coup. No loss of life is unimportant and my heart goes out to all who were hurt in any way, whichever side they supported.
Oh the irony! I agree with you of course. The quote is pretty topical in the current climate The tricky thing is that exercising the right to offend is what got DD hoofed off here. Be careful you don’t cross that line. It keeps moving!
Far more people choose their media outlets to polish their prejudices than to widen their sources of information. Just a little conspiracy theory of mine!
