A selection of chisels will do the job if you are careful :)

Ah, I understand. The bearing has come out of the casing and is still on the crank. My bad, sorry, I thought the bearing was still in the casing.
Here's John getting his off with a wedge - almost at the start of the video. That puller should do the job once you get the space

You can look forward to the sludge trap soon, o_O

well I improvised, I searched through my workshop to see if there was anything I could use and dual claw hammers was the best thing I could come up with and it worked a treat, a little bit of heat on the inner race a bit of pressure from the double hammers and off it popped.
    Sludge trap hear I come

A bit more scrap heap challenging to get the sludge trap plug cap out. I managed to find a 17 mm Allen key chucked in to bottom of a tool box an with a little bit of help from an angle grinder Voila sludge plug tool.

Plug out - hooray, is there much muck in there? Another challenge getting the tube out. I've got a piece of steel with a shallow hook that I wedge into the central bolt hole - then hit an attached pair of mole grips sharply with a hammer. It's always worked so far. Some put a thread into the tube and then wack the inserted bolt.

Thanks for the tip I’ll see what I’ve got knocking about to make some kind of version of your tool.

Good man ...nothing like a bit of ingenuity and home made special tools...they seldom had all the special tools that are available today.:)

More ingenuity :) Draglink sockets are the way to go, have been using them for years with the trusty airgun :)

I’m having to use a bit of ingenuity nobody mentioned to me there was special tools before I bought the bike
The only special tool I’ve had to use was the clutch basket remover but luckily my dad had one it must be Older than me ( in m 47)

I’ve got a feeling I might end up with all these tools. This bike was going to be my first and last bike. I wanted to restore and ride the bike end of story but I’ve enjoyed restoring it so much I think once she’s done I’ll be looking for another wreck to bring back to life

Sludge trap is out. After all the hassle of getting it out it was virtually empty just half a peanuts worth at the entrance and a couple of small lumps at the end but at least I know it’s empty now. No wondering if I’m damaging the engine or if the oil is circulating so I’m happy.
Darkman I made a sludge tube puller it’s not quite as fancy as yours
