    Hello everyone and Merry Xmas!
Had the front wheel off my 2009 street triple today to inspect wheel bearings, discs etc prior to an MOT for the New Year. Now the bike is back fully assembled there is a notchy feel to the front forks during compression? Even using a two pronged paddock stand the task of lifting the front end is precarious so I'm unsure if something may have twisted or out of line during assembly (though nothing to the naked eye). If anyone else has experienced this I'd really appreciate help in putting things right.
I assume notchy forks would also be an MOT failure.........................
    All the best!

Sure it’s the forks and not the head race bearings?

It's strange as it seemed fine prior to the work being carried out. Head race and steering wasn't touched.

I don’t know the 675, so find it a little tricky to answer. But to try and clear things up a bit...
    1) you don’t have a Centre stand???
    2) the 2 pronged stand is a front end stand
    3) you don’t have a budding assistant who can help you for 1/2 hr?

    Many thanks for the reply!
No centre stand on the 675 which makes things awkward. The front fork legs are slightly different lengths which also makes using a front paddock stand precarious. I may get the Mrs to steady the bike on the stand whilst I slacken the pinch bolts, spin the front wheel and apply the front brake several times. This trick apparently realigns things to a degree. Just annoying that I can't safely get the front end off the ground and steady so I can carry out proper inspection. Ho....hum.

I put the you tube video in because it shows how to lift the front end with a paddock stand and a Jack (I used to use strap ties to stabilise it) the trick being to lift the front end just enough to clear the floor until you need to take the wheel out... good luck fella, slacken and Rejig the bolts would be my next advice, but you’re on with it

I think it's just the allowable play in the disc bobbins that you are feeling and just only notice now as you're worrying about play elsewhere that isn't there
