Not sure it’s that curious he’s exiting stage left with as little drama as possible from the Orange Wall of Noise - he was leaving on 20th Jan anyway
Timing probably agreed with Trump to deflect attention away from the EC results. I think the announcement was within an hour of Biden hitting the magic 270.
Barr is definitely the most “curious” figure in this whole process. It will be interesting to see what he says in the coming months/years.
Do you mean it seems like he's running for the door before an absurd miss mash of pardons and even more desperate law suits hit the fan?
Don't forget that there are another 5 executions lined up before January 20th. Here's some food for thought... if you can read the article linked below and not feel a sense of outrage at the current administration then I genuinely think you need to take a very long, and vary hard look at yourself in the mirror. Trump's America. Trump Administration Executes Brandon Bernard After Jurors Plead For His Life
Did you read the article I linked, because if you did you'll know that your comment is way off the mark?
The article I read quoted his apology to the families of the victims. When someone commits murder/aids murder they, by their actions, are saying they have the right to choose life or death. I have no issue with the courts having that same right.
Whilst the death sentence is current law in America who are we to say whether it should be used or not. There are no details of the case, so it is not possible to say anything about what actually happened for him to end up where he did...
Trump and Barr revived federal executions only recently actually, after a period of nearly 20 years since the practice stopped. Five executions were scheduled between last Thursday and Trump leaving the White House on 20 January, making a total of 13 federal executions since July and cementing Trump’s legacy as the most prolific execution president in over 130 years. I'm more than happy with my moral compass on this one.
Suspect he’s laying out his stall for the law and order ticket for his 2024 presidential bid Or he really is blurring the lines between politics and entertainment and trying to make the Hunger Games reality
Your moral compass is irrelevant. The guy executed was tried by a jury, found guilty and sentenced to death. You do not live in that country, have no voting rights and no say. End of.
You posted an opinion, so there’s no “end of” about it, I’m afraid. We’ll agree to differ. As for who has a say and who doesn’t, where is this set of rules you refer to? I obviously need to brush up on them.
